Patch One includes:

Player Vendors (NPCs you can offer your goods for sale through)
Theme Music
Magician Glove
Mounts for the GMs
Tuning and balance for magic users – less expensive spells, a refund for certain spells, will need to redo some purchases & stanzas to adjust.
The world becomes a more dangerous place. Creatures have their own agendas. Be careful. They just got a bit better organized!
Patch One is heading to the Advanced Test Server (ATS) soon... 1-2 weeks after landing on the advanced test server – Patch One goes live!

Patch Two is scheduled to follow one month later (Note: might be 5 weeks)

Patch Two includes:

The Encyclopedia
Quests will begin to appear
Rewards are revamped (special items… cool stuff)
In Game extra Chat channels (please give us feedback on what is needed other than AUCTION)
Player Mounts
More Story elements…. (no spoilers… good stuff though!)
You will start to see some divergence among the races abilities. (big hint here)
Possible Patch Two Content: (time dependent)

The cosmetic skills branch (tattoos and hair to start)
Thanks for all your input guys. We do appreciate it!

Thanks for the news.

I wonder why mounts are only for the GMs in the patch ONE and for every players in the next patch.

Thanks for the news.

I wonder why mounts are only for the GMs in the patch ONE and for every players in the next patch.

The mounts have a lot of extra testing needed. The devs want the GMs using them in the full live games for a month before rolling them out to everyone.

It makes good sense but when they told me, I had the exact same reaction you did until they explained it! :)

Thanks,

In Game extra Chat channels (please give us feedback on what is needed other than AUCTION)
Region should be removed (especially in Matis) and replaced with an "Open Chat" which can be disabled. A Player Help channel (that can be modded and chatters removed from) for player to player help. A "Role Playing" channel (again, needs to be a way to keep the same folks that made region worthless in Matis from ruining this). Lastly a LFG/LFT (looking for group/team) channel specifically designed for folks looking for someone to team up with.

Other than "Player Help" all channels should be able to be removed or disabled, anyone may have the answer to help someone else so that should be there IMHO.

Lastly, there must be moderation or a method to mute the part of the population that thinks $.50 USD a day allows them to do what they want. You can make channels all you like, but folks wont be happy until they can use them as intended.

Well - there's a huge belly ache for the devs. ;)

For now, they were intending to give you guys more channels so you could sell items you've made, etc.

A complete rework is probably not going to happen short term (I could be wrong & I'll certainly ask!).

That said: If you could only have more channels to get by on before the devs call in VG to help code up the new specs he just layed out.... <grin> Which channels would be the most use?

thanks!

No, I believe I did address your point. I'm not in disagreement with you but rather I'm saying we've had a huge amount of requests for additional channels.

If the entire chat system from soup to nuts needs a rework in your opinion, that's a different matter.

The devs would like to give the players who are selling items a way to do so without using the main channel and if a couple of extra channels would help or be useful, they wanted to know.

Your issue is you think the chat system should be reworked. Ok. Fair enough. That I can pass on to the devs.

In the meantime, I need an answer so we can add the extra channels now that players want and need.

I certainly heard you and understood what you were saying. It wasn't what we were asking (from the devs) and I can't simply toss out what we have because it could be better. :)

Maybe a way to create private chat channels for friends.

Region chat seems very popular and I think it gives the community a nice feel. I do wish we could ignore certain players on it who constantly spam etc.

What a sticky this is!
Good news, bad news, and the ever present condecending, know it all post from... well you know who.

Good news: Looks like Neverax has got big plans and is looking to the future. They are keeping us informed and "in the loop".

Bad news: Looks like the most wanted features (quest upgrades and encyclopedia) won't see light until way after the 30 days that come with the box are over. I think a lot of people are going to make their decision on whether or not to stay in the game about when the first 30 days are up.

Also no mention of any kind of skill trade in feature. I've had everything from lag to tiredness to plain old stupidity and human frality cause me to put skill points where they shouldn't be. Did I mention the complete lack of any information as to just what exactly the dang thing does?

We've all been there right?
Well except for those perfect gamers, you know the ones... "I went to the mainland at level one and nekkid and had no problems staying alive!"

As for chat channels right now when I play there are 2 to many (user and around) which are just sitting there doing nothing waiting to be turned into something more relevant to me taking my eyes off whatever happens to be pounding my head into the sand at the moment.

That leaves regional in which most messages fall into a 5 basic categories...

1. WTB !!!
2. WTS !!!
3. A yubo just peed on my leg !!!
4. LoL !!! You said peed !!!
5. When should you leave newb island? Oh level 20 should do ya fine.

I'm not sure "auction" should be the name of one of the new channels either, seems a bit restrictive. "Trade" seems a more descriptive choice.

I'd like to see a 'MUST...FIND...TEAM...POUNDING...NEEDS...REDISTRIB UTING'
type of channel.

Feel free to ignore/discount everything I wrote above. After playing about 20 hours straight I can take no responsibility for my actions. Gad my EYES...

The trade/shop channel is a definite necessity.

As for region chat, the best thing is to probably use the ignore feature. The 'f' key, the second part under the friends menu for those of you who haven't found it yet.

Can we get more details on the gloves? I kind of rather like the magic staff we have now. I don't want to see more graphics overhauls that the players don't want. So I'm just hoping this is an extra, and not another replacement.

For that matter, wishlist:

a way of seeing the old magic graphics in use again. Don't throw them away, we liked them!

Something other than that spammed yelling sound for increase damage. Something to make the yelling less constant and less monotanous. It is the only thing keeping my wife from playing the game she says.

a self-heal adjustment. I think the self-HP Heal heals too much, it negates too much use of the healers. Maybe half the amount? on the other hand harvesters consume a load of focus and can't have it healed. How about not halfing their focus heal?

Range fighters need help, there are several reasons we don't see any. Please look at their skill point purchases and their ammo and help them out.

Patch notes look good. We always wish there could be more or faster, but Nevrax is doing a pretty awesome job in my opinion. I look forward to the future of this game!

If your putting an auction system in patch one.. There is one Thing that you MUST NOT FORGET .. We need the ablity to split stacked items.. There is no real way of selling materials as it is.

Yes. This is on the way.

I asked the devs about 85 questions on Friday (no joke) This was #34 on the list.

34. Will there be a way to trade only a certain amount of raw materials?

Yes. The stacks issue is broken and being fixed in Patch One.

Many small outstanding issues are being fixed in P1. In the patch notes, we've listed mostly the major things.

One channel idea that found life on many MUDs was a "flame" channel. It was essentially a channel in which nearly anything other than racist/sexist/anti-religion and other such stuff could be used. The catch was that since swearing and other bad behavior was allowed there, it was restricted from the other public channels. It creates a place for the problem-children to go, and in so doing removes them from areas where they're less appreciated.

A line or two in the EULA, a means for players to report offenders, some sort of minor penalty for violating said line in the EULA, and the situation essentially takes care of itself. Bad behavior and language -will- happen, and it does set a certain tone. By channeling it into one area, however, it's much easier to bypass if you'd rather not be part of it.
----------

The "looking for group" channel is a good idea. Many people prefer grouping, and having a specific locale to check would make it much easier.
----------

The ability to create chat rooms is a very good idea. It's another feature that I saw on many MUDs. It pretty much allows people looking to talk about certain things to do so without dedicating an entire global or regional channel to it. If people want to roleplay themselves as persian cats? They have a room. If people want to discuss fantasy football? They have a room.
----------

A global "guild" channel might be a good idea. Since guild culture will apparently be a large part of the game, there will no doubt be many people looking to recruit members or find the right organization for themself. A channel dedicated to this will keep recruiting messages out of the general area and give people a place to check when they're ready to start investigation guild options.
----------

Another MUD channel- the Q&A channel. This is basically a place for people to ask and answer questions, a realtime version of an FAQ. People looking to share their knowledge monitor the chat and help out where they're needed. It was a fairly successful device in the MUD community.
----------

That's about all I can think of. I'd like to take a moment and comment about the quick responses I've been noticing in Ryzom from the staff, though. I had a few technical problems in-game on my first day, and had a GM in front of me in no more than two minutes. The board responses from staff have been blisteringly quick as well. So far, the support and involvement I've seen has been unparalleled, and that's really made an impact on me. I'm so used to waiting hours or days for support in other games that I was quite flabbergasted when it appeared before my very eyes with no delay. Cheers to you for that. You've set a precedent there.

I wanted to check the wishlist today and add my wishes:
A storyline! Why should I be killing Turn of the Tide (Which I, coming from newbie island, thought were just another species of animals)? I want to know what happened in the past.
Why keep people telling that they can initiate rites but they don't?

I really hope this will be changed with the 2nd patch! It was my only downer in this otherwise stunningly beautiful game!

Thanks Nevrax!

For chat channels, the ability to form and password protect channels that worked globally would be great. After that, an auction channel would be nice, specifically if linking items into chat was implemented =D

My recommendation would have to be reviewing the lake mainland for trykers for invisible walls. They are everywhere. Actually got so frustrating that my friend and I switched over to FOTM Matis. Well that and the spaceman heavy tryker helmet, hah.

My personal gripes:

1. Selling more than one item to merchants. This needs to be fixed so that we can select the 5000 peices we have and sell them at once or select 5 different items to sell together. Its annoying to have a full pack and not be able to sell everything in one pop shot. Selling each individually is kinda lame, especially when you have a full pack. Maybe make a check box next to each stack, so you can click it and then scroll down the list checking boxes of stacks you want to sell?

2. I think the player towns are way over populated lol. There is like 50 npcs in each town that do nothing really. Just the little carrier quests, but thats tough to find each person. I tried a few of them and I couldnt find a damn person, it was a waste of time lol.

3. You should have NPC's who can explain things a little better, like stanzas, how to make your own spells, how to augment your weapons and gear, and maybe quests to do so like the other skills with the welcoming trainers.

4. Is there healing potions or sap potions? This is so annoying when I am out there hunting and I get owned because my timer which is way too long on my healing self thing is still greyed out. I really think the healing/support spells need to be looked at. If I want to aura my friends, the downtime between is kinda lame. Makes it hard to be a healer if I wanted to go that route.

5. Are there buff icons?

6. Also importantly in the player towns not noobieville, NPC's who give you a little direction, like a map. You want the trainer, you should go this way. the Tyker town is so annoying to go through and find who you are looking for and need. Maybe this is just my pet peeve lol.

7. Flavour, we need flavour quests and storys, npc's, rare monsters, uncommon monsters.

**** As it stands i just made it to the homeland and I really don't know what to do or go. I am just wandering around trying to find pc's who give flavour and an idea of where to go and what to do.

The game is awesome, and I am trying to sell it to my group of MMORPG friends who we all travel world to world together. I havent sold them yet on this game, but im working on it :)

>You will start to see some divergence among the races abilities. (big hint here)

Well that worries me. There's no details on what this means,
Maybe I'm dense but I don't get the "hint".

In game people are talking about racial bonuses towards ranged weapons and magic and such. Someone is saying that Trykers will have advantages to ranged combat and Fryos will have advantages to melee combat. I don't know where they are getting this information. I sure don't see it on the boards. But this makes me worried.

For example, I'm planning on spending hundreds of skill points towards ranged and ammo crafting. If what fellow players are saying, that will leave me up a creek without a paddle because my community of buyers could potentiall dry up if Fryos have advantages to melee and not ranged after this patch. (this is just an example, but based on someone else's information in game, or their own pure conjecture)

I dont' want to spend hundreds of skill points towards ranged crafting only to see my community of buyers dry up because "Who wants a ranged weapon? We're better at melee!" Especially given that you can not trade those skill points in one they are spent. If we could change skill points out then I'd be more likely to accept changes to the system. But since we can't... changing the system would be like yanking the rug out from under the players would it not?

Can you clarify a bit what racial changes are being planned? Am I in danger of facing a scenario that would make me want to restart again?

I think the chats should be differentiated by different colors. Sometimes there are so many chats going on at the same time, it is hard to see who is responding to you without scrolling up and trying to find the response. So, make the players names in white and the messages in blue. That would make it easier to keep track of who you are chatting with...or not.
I like the idea of having a WTB/WTS and Roleplaying chats. And the "flaming" or say whatever the f*** you want to and not offend anyone else chats.

Yes, whatever may be needed to track this one down. It impacts gaining mission items, sap crystals and crystalized spells and has been around for ages. Can we please see a large can of bug spray applied to this critter right away?

On a side note, I'm somewhat concerned by the future race divergence. I just hope that the experience will bring enough excitement to the game to warrant the inevitable backlash from players who will feel wronged by such a move. Of course, I could be totally off base here and everyone will love the change. I've been wrong before, so here's hoping. ;)

A few follow up questions:

1) Is the patch schedule mostly going to be a monthly thing?
2) If the plan to add story stuff every patch? Or is it going to be every few patches?
3) I had read awhile back that the game was designed so that content such as new missions could be added without having to shut down the servers, is this still true?
4) Is the deliver mission bug going to be fixed in the first patch?

Thoughts suggestions concerning the chat channens/system:

The single most annyoing thing about the chat system is that there are times when you don't have the chat window in focus, you start typeing and all the windows start opening and closing. Is something going to be done to change this?

Also is there going to be something done that will show which chat channel is active and which ones aren't. For example if someone types something in regional and you are looking at the around channel, the regional tab lights up.

For chat channels the following would be a very welcome thing:
Market/Trade
Storyline (for discussion of the storyline when it gets going)
Roleplaying Channels - These could be set up by race or just one in general. It would allow people who want to roleplay a place to do so without general chatter ruining the atmostphere
New Players/Help : New players can go here to ask experienced players questions.

Hmmm. Lets see. A trade channel (already covered I know), a grouping channel (for finding groups), a help channel, a crafting channel (for tips / questions), and harvesting channel could be nice…

I realize the following is probably something that has been asked / requested a hundred times already but I tried 3 times to write this
And just couldn’t make it through with out adding it in…

Any number of channels added in and lumped into user chat (that can’t be turned off) is kind of useless.

Actually, thinking about it. Being able to create channels that could be joined with a /join command or /invite (which I have noticed is already a command in game) would be VERY nice.

This could really help on multiple group parties if not everyone is in the guild…
And players could organize there own trade, help, group, and any other channel they wanted then just /join when they logged in.

Healing too much? When you use any self heal (stamina, health, sap, focus) you lose ability to use ALL other heal types for like 2 mins. That already makes buying the others pretty pointless.

Why don't these have individual timers?

In tough battles, I constantly have to run away because even though I bought the heal self skills, I can only use one (usually health to avoid death debt), which means that if I run low on stamina/sap when I run low on health, I have to heal and run when I should be able to simply use the other heals that I've spent pts. buying.

The idea of just adding more channels is all well and good but it doesn't really fix anything it just adds more tabs to something that is cramped enough as it is. The whole chat system needs to be more user controlled. Anyone should be able to make their own chat "rooms" or channels or whatever you want to call it so anyone from any race/region/guild could make and invite anyone to a private channel as long as they are on the same server. There could of course be set channels for a bazaar for selling items or anything like that and a looking for group channel but it should be a players choice if they want to join the channel or not it shouldn't just be another tab on the screen. Chat windows should be able to be set up to display any chat channel you want them to not just one at a time and you should be able to make more than one chat window like you do for tells but be able to have them display more than just tells.

As for possibly changing the races so one race may have an advantage over the other in a certain skill it may really turn off lots of the users when after a patch their characters now aren't as good as they would be had they chosen a different race just cause of a new patch and at some devs whim. If a list of changes to the races or advantages or whatever was being planned was given out so people could plan what race they actually want to play based on what skill they want to go into it may develop a more loyal user base.

Change is good as long as its something thats wanted. At least for now if its not broken dont fix it. Theres lots of things that simply dont work at all they should be fixed first. Nothing new should be added to the game until it is more polished and broken things in it are fixed. Why add something new and just create more things to fix.

I would also appreciate more details on this, because it is affecting how I spend my sp.... not only the crafting SP (melee craft vs armor craft) but also related skills (for example, I may want to specialize in shaft prospecting and extraction, which means 40 sp more). So, if you are considering a skill reset, I strongly suggest harvesting skill reset as well....

The other possibility is to leave Shaft (8) grip (2) focus (10), but it seems weird for magician gloves...

Will either one of these patches address the targeting problem? Apparently the Force Box doesn't work right.

My other concern is that even if it works right, it may not be enough to avoid frustration due to taking on something a player is not ready for as the level range for a color is pretty broad.

I'd like to make a comment to everybodies comments about the racial distinction. I for one, would play the race that I want to play and how I want to play it, no matter what. I'm not reading into this like everyone else, but I think even if one race was better at magic and another at melee, then so be it. As it should be. I really like the idea of having actual racial divergence, instead of copy-cat characters for each race - but I also think that picking a race because of its perks is kinda silly.

Nobody is going to force you to play a race, if the Fyros aren't as good with magic than another race but you want to play a Fryos magician, then do it.

As for the chat tabs, I think everyone already brought up the best points.

You can combine the self heal stam and health and use them at the same time...someone hasn't been messing around enough with actions i see...in the beta my fighter had 3 self-heal actions, the first was straight heal 600, second was heal 500 stam 100, third heal 400 stam 200, so if i was running low in hp and stam i could use one of the latter actions, it was working out just fine for me...didn't have many problems :)

That was exactly what the stanza system was supposed to do... Bringing creativity into your game? Always running low on health AND stamina? Combine two healings to one and see the kipees die! Works like a charm. (And I have only reached lvl 20, wonder whats out there)

[QUOTE=Satchi]Patch One includes: (http://ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1013)

Player Vendors (NPCs you can offer your goods for sale through)

The wording seems to indicate that the NPC vendors will work like those of HZ where you can offer things to sell and search through the stuff that others have put up to see if you want to buy any of it (WTS vendors). Will there be a system similar to EVE as well where you can setup a purchase of what you want to buy and let others meet the order if they feel like your price is worth the effort (WTB vendors)?

Having the WTS vendors is great for crafters, and can be ok for harvesters, but it truely sucks for adventurer types who find themselves needing a staff... or a boot... or whatever and finding 47 gloves for sale. Also IMO having a WTB set of vendors helps improve the economy for those selling stuff since they don't worry about setting their prices too high, are not hated for having a stranglehold on those who need to buy stuff from them... most importantly though, it prevents the "ffs I've been trying to find a X for N hours/days/weeks" since they can just put out an order and wait till it gets filled or raise their price if they find it was too low for someone to bother.

Basic/fine/choice/etc mats all seem pretty much standard stats as long as you have the same basic/fine/choice/etc mob/harvest drop QL. It could easily be handled for those with a tiered selection system where you just drill down to what specifically you want and select the QL. A little more work would be needed for finished crafted items, but could easily be done with range X-Y sliders for the stats you want it to meet and a way of verifying that said item is actually possible.

Having your stam/heal/sap/focus timers decoupled reduces downtime and provides flexibilty.

Want to heal? Go ahead. Stam low, but health OK 1.5 min later? Go nuts and heal your stam, knowing that you still have your health heal in 30 sec or so.

How about fixing the Sap Crystal bug?
Big time!
I encountered this bug today, just started a mage alt. I'm grateful to GM-Takashi for all the help (and I hope I helped to narrow down the cause and possibly move closer to a solution) but the existing "fix" is a big PITA if I may say so.

Started out with the Big Mage Pack so I could have Acid and Fear from the beginning... so when I got hit with this bug, I had to grind out 5 levels of Fight to get Crafting start; those points were needed for Health stats and heals, so I had to bang out 5 levels of Craft to get... Harvesting Start; then Harvest for 5 levels to get the skills I should have been getting with Fight.

Net Result? 145 SP invested just to reliably make Sap Crystals.

This needs fixing before the patch, that's for sure.

YesOn a side note, I'm somewhat concerned by the future race divergence. I just hope that the experience will bring enough excitement to the game to warrant the inevitable backlash from players who will feel wronged by such a move. Of course, I could be totally off base here and everyone will love the change. I've been wrong before, so here's hoping. ;) I just hope i wont be forced to reroll my 2 favourite toons because they took the wrong *profession* for their race....

There is one thing that hasn't been mentioned at all, but I would very much like to see. A way to block ALL /tells, as when one needs some alone time, doesn't want to answer 80 questions, can't afford to have a new window pop open dead center of the screen every time someone new sends one, or just plain does not want to talk, there is no way to stop it.

Sure, there is the 'enemies' listing, but I for one don't really see it being remotely feasable to enter every single name just so that one might have some quiet time for a few hours.

So.... can we *please* (pretty, pretty please!) have something that we are able to turn off and on as an entire unit, to prevent any and all /tell messages? :(

Patch Two is scheduled to follow one month later (Note: might be 5 weeks)

Patch Two includes:

You will start to see some divergence among the races abilities. (big hint here)

Can we get ALOT more details about this or are we all suppose to reroll to the correct race that has the abilities that we want after patch???

Any idea when we can start buying from "Hawkers"?

Probably when they sell your race specific gear. They are not there for home Landers, rather for travelers (players) from other areas. They are a convenience though when you don’t want to trek back to town just to sell.

Oh!! I'm so looking forward to the Vendors. I have been crafting to keep me in gear for my lowest levels so far, but I'm not really a crafter at heart. More of an adventurer.

Vendors are much easier than trying to find a crafter online when you are online to make you something. It also helps stabilize the economy with competition between crafters setting the prices.

But, I just can't WAIT!!!

We have noticed some changes to the guild screen with today's patch as well. Our one difficulty is that now it does not show TOTAL guild members. It only shows how many and which guild members are online at the moment. It is nice to see who is on, but we also need to see the names of members for our records and how many total we have. It is extremely helpful to know if someone has been added or (heaven forbid) dropped while we were offline, especially for the leaders and officers. Will this (and could it) be changed back soon, while leaving all of the new information as well? If not, we'd rather have the old way back (with total #'s and all names) and we'll use the friends list for the other info.

Thank you,
Jinari

Anybody familiar with Earth and Beyond? (moment of respectful silence observed) They had a channel manager where you could pick from a list of 20 preset channels, each with their own text color, which would appear in ONE chat window. You also could create your own private chat channel, either with or without a password, which was another color.

One chat window.

One color for each chat channel.

Do-able?

In reference to people saying that the User channel is useless :::

Sheesh, you people REALLY dont explore the possibilities of hitting 'U' and changing colors, and tehn right click on teh user window and changing what channels are open in user.

Not to be harsh, bu read your user manual, and if that doesnt help, ry rigt clicking in the different chat windows.

BTW --

The only channel I can think of that we need right now, would be 'Merchant' or something akin to that name, a way for players to sell goods without having to spam the general public.

Maybe a way to create private chat channels for friends.

Region chat seems very popular and I think it gives the community a nice feel. I do wish we could ignore certain players on it who constantly spam etc.

The Ability TO MUTE Region Chat from USER PANE would be very nice
for Removing the SPAM and vulgarity from my game experiance

The suggestion that FRIENDS list be a SEPERATE CHANNEL similiar to guild
is an AWESOME suggestion allowing for GUILDS to share a channel by adding each others members to thier lists.Mute would be simple .. REMOVE the name from FRIENDS LIST ..

BTW i feel REGION chat tells should ECHO in AREA . The thought of trying to switch my chat to another channel just to say Hello to a passing friend while in combat just doesnt cut it.

Finally IT would be so NICE if the CHat windows could be set to OPEN on MONITOR NUMBER 2. There is absolutely no reason for mouse to be restricted to WINDOW boarders. Players dont use edge HOTZONES to move or rotate camera so the edge restriction just keeps our screen cluttered. Remove the EDGE boundaries and many of use dual monitor users will get to DRAG those chats off the screen.

But my main reason for post is still I totally agree that a friends list channel would be MY FIRST request for an additional channel. I believe it will improve relations with guilds improve trading improve grouping availabilty and provide a channel with CONTROL over whose text you see and whos you dont.

Muting region (or any channel) is easy. Activate the user channel tab and right click in the space to the right of the tab. A filter list will pop up. As to the vulgarity, that's a violation of the EULA (see section 12) and a report category under the support tool. If you feel it's a problem, report it. Just be aware that the CSRs are the ones who determine what does and what does not qualify as vulgarity; so, even if you're offended they may not (depending on the situation) take any action. You do have a final recourse though. You can mute individual players by typing /ignore playername in the chat window.

Just a little hint: the game seems to be severely restricted in the raw materials department (at least for me).

I'm part of a guild that's trying to be utterly self-sufficient, so that all of our money stays in the guild or goes to merchants, not players "on the outside". However, to do this, we need to have FOUR harvesters for every one crafter to keep supply of materials even with demand. Perhaps if the harvesters pulled more materials in a given amount of time, or if the crafters took more time or less materials to make items, it would balance this out.

Also, for those players who try to hunt for raw materials to craft with, more frequent drops of lining are sorely needed. I've been known to spend 12 hours trying to get enough lining for one full suit of armor. When it only takes 2 hours to get the rest of the materials, it's just a wee bit unbalanced :P

Suggestio here...can someone from Nervax create a summary of all the changes, answers and responses from the developers. Also, can you have a forum which just lists all of the posts by any developers/official Nevrax party. It would a great way to keep up to date on any official discussions and such. AC2 website has this and it is much loved.

Main things I would like to see in patch one or two is the addressing of the lag issues, the Tryker racial issues (materials on mainland, and guild missions being given by Matis??!!).

I would also like to see the resource node tracking get a makeover. For instance, it should NEVER track a node that is depleated or over your skill at prospecting (if you have basic skills, tracking should ONLY ever take you to a basic node, etc). I would like to also see a directional indicator added to it.

For instance, 25 m EAST of your current location.

As much as I would like new tattoos and hairstyles, I don't think that this is a patch two or even THREE item, until other issues are resolved this one should be MUCH lower on the priority list.

I am still VERY much interested in a BANKING system for basic storage. Sorry housing is NOT the answer, I think housing should exist, and should have MANY advantages to it, but I don't think that storage should be the biggest one.

I dont know why people are complaining about the racial divergance. I mean, its pretty standard in every other RPG, only odd thing about it here is its being implemented after the launch, but even so, its not a big deal. In FFXI ive seen galka blm and taru mnks. I like the idea, it makes choosing your race more than just an aesthetic choice.

Additional points: I think harvesting is rather balanced as far as mats you can pull. At 150 i can pull 8-10 items a pull easy, at higher levels i expect to be able to pull more. True you cant pull 20 at level 10, but if you could, why would you level harvesting more? You also gotta understand, if it took 3 items to make a staff, than for an uber staff, you would only need 3 good mats. Having it take 20 makes it much more difficult to create a high-end item. As for it taking for harvesters to supply one crafter, thats relative to the quality of items people want. If you want to supply a guild of several people with uber items, it shouldnt be a 1 hour thing, it should take time. The lining issue i have not found on Zorai at all, nor an equivalent problem for any other items. Some specific mats are harder to find, like high quality big shells for instance, but again, it should take some effort. My advice would be to get the lining prospection and try to track lining in several different spots. Some locations will have alot of a mat available where some seem to deplete in a few pulls consistantly, so if its taking you 12 hours to get enough for one set, maybe you need to find bigger sources.
As for tracking, it is helpful to know the location of a potential source, even if it is one above you're level or that is currently depleted. A directional meter would make tracking far to easy, you'd be able to walk right to a source. As it is, it will eventually get you within 1 meter and from there you should be able to find it relatively quick. This also increases the importance of the +range and angle stanzas.
Mektoubs are essentially mobile banks and with 3 of them you can store quite a bit of stuff. Between that and an apartment you can store alot of stuff, no game I have played offers unlimited storage.
Offtopic from the original post but the one bug I would like to see fixed is the death penalty bug. Getting 2x or 3x the death penalty you should is ridiculous, especially at higher levels.
Also, it is fairly irritating that when you die when leveling magic or another skill, if another skill is alot higher the only way you can make up that penalty is to use that skill. My PR forage is alot higher than anything else so everytime I die, i have to go to the PR, otherwise it takes 10x as long to regain my DP. Must be absolutely awful for people with crafting alot higher than anything else... I would suggest not dying.
Decay should be adjusted as well IMO, stuff seems to decay ridiculously fast.

I've got no problem with the changes to make races different.
I've got a problem with UNSPECIFIED changes.

Its the not knowing that is making me feel like whatever I'm doing now in the same is likely to become useless in the near future.

Murphy's law.. whatever can go wrong will.

O.. I chose to focus on ranged for my crafting.. is it not likely that they will change my race so that ranged weapons are favored by some other race besides mine? If that happened all new avatars for my race would stop focusing on ranged weapons.

That might happen... might not.
Nevrax certainly haven't given any specifics on what they are going to do, only that they are going to do... something? I hate uncertainty.

Ultimate Harvesting Guide (http://ryzom.twazz.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=4)

I could be wrong, cause region chat is pretty cool where I am, but isn't there an ignore feature in the contact window - right under friends. Can't you add annoying people to your ignore list and then... ignore them? I haven't tried it, but i assume it works on all channels and not just tells.

<kaeru> we are going to implement a music system, based on sample banks, so that each player with the right skill + instruments can compose his own. Everyone in the game will be able to hear it since all samples are installed on client side. We'll patch new samples regularly too, and some famous DJs will contribute too. Using these samples, they'll do some tunes. Talented players will be able to become famous too. There is also some gameplay implication for the music, but that is not for release.

I am kinda of obsessed with this music system, so I will push it in as soon as humanly possible.maybe they could put this in ring, actually :D
