SOMTHING! Just wanted to say I found a use for the mount. Noooo Its not to fool your friends into thinking that its a gingo invation. Although that is fun. :)
Ive been useing my mount to do missions around Fryos. First I was parking it in a safe place before going to battle with some tribe. But, that got to be a pain fast. So I took it with me thinking if it dies its useless. I got off it clicked follow and went in to fight. They never touched it. I guess as long as I was there they ignor my mount. This worked for mobs too.
At first I thought they would treat it like a team member and attack it. But they dont. It just follows me where ever I go so when Im done its right next to me. I hop on and run off to the next mission site.
Now I did this with lower mobs and tribes I was sure I could kill. I dont know if mobs will attack it if its following me and Im not going near them or if I leave my mount on its own.

Please ignore the first post and experiment at your own risk!
This was my initial impression as well, that mobs do not treat your following mob as a teammate and attack it. However, do not be fooled, for if the mob is closer to the mount than it is to you, it will attack the mount first. Under normal circumstances with you leading the mount, you will be agroed before the mount is, but if you have the misfortune of a pop occurting behind you then you can kiss your 300 hp anemic packer goodbye. If you are careful enough you can generally lead your packer and direct the mobs to yourself, but the packer is by no means immune to attack. I have had a mount die in such a manner and now will probably go mountless until tougher lvl 200+ packers become available. Right now there are only useful to me as a shuttle between safe zones through relatively agro free pathways.

I'm more worried about my packers than my mount.

MOUNT are Direct Damage IMMUNE, they will NOT take hits directly. On the other hand, they are more than open to Area Of Effect spells. SO becareful when riding on your mount around aggro that shoots off AoEs...

Until I get my crafting to the point where I can churn out 500k daps in an hour or two, and pay back the kind guildmate that gifted me with my mount...He will sit and be pampered by the thesos stable boy...I think the guy has a thing for me, I don't think the light zorai armor hurt either *giggle*.
I do know that if you forage, park packies and mounts FAR from any possible gas exposure...it DOES kill them. May George the packer rest in peace.
I know we can get stronger healther packers, I hope if we ask for them we can get a better, maybe NOT so expensive mount.

oh for crying out loud.. i have screen shots of my mount after it took direct damage from.. guess what.. GINGO's..
And no.. the system doesn't show messages in the window if your mount is under attack.. etc..

This is one of the largest myths on this server it seems, people keep bragging about how the mount won't get attacked, won't take direct damage, so on and so forth.
I really love the ones about how they can run around in agro area's and there mount never takes damage etc
The truth is, you are primary target, on rare instances the mount will be primary target, and yes, it happens, as you gallop through area's, you have a larger agro range than your mount, so if you get 10 mobs chassing you, there is a chance that 1 of those is really after your mount, but your going to fast to slow down to have it killed from under you.
As a side note, 1 gingo was on me, 2 were on my mount.
Second picture, I had 2 on me, and 3 on my mount that is why he got so low, and that was such a pain.

My first mount died to some lvl 100+ ragus in HoP, they aggrod me while I was on it. They chased me into a pack of the kitins that look like kizoars but they aggro (can't remember their name). They killed me THEN they proceeded to eat my mount, needless to say I was not amused.

as far as i have experienced you can have a train of 5 mobs max, clopper hill in fyros is a splendid testing ground for that

speaking of cloppers on clopper hill... do they hide in the sand or fly or something equally evil? I was at the outskirts and was jumped by a group of at least 7-10 and I saw nothing moving at any noticable speed on radar with 250m zoom nor my screen until they had me surrounded.
Their ninja tactics are not amusing either, I usually hear their incessant clicking a good distance away but there were only other mobs making their incessant noises.

Xeno, yes, five is the limit. But...five on you...five on mount = ten total.

I used my mount to run solo all the way to the southern spawn point in Matis.
The second time I tried I had 3 cuttlers and 2 torbaks in close pursuit, I was busy concentrating on the agro and ran into a high level bandit camp in the deep south of upper bog when they killed me in about 2 secs with range attacks (2700hp). They left the Mek alone though.
Now the mek still shows as being in the camp alive and well grazing on their land :D
I attempted to get the mek back and managed to get within 40m of it but the bandits got sight of me again and you know the rest. I was aiming to get 30m away so i could use the "follow" to get it out but im not quite fast enough alone even with speed up 3. I guess I'll pick it up some other way with help.
For now I'll let them look after it lol
I though a good idea would be to kit out your meks with armor of different quality too?
Maybe one day. :/

Did you guys even read my post? Gee wiz!! I never said they dont get attacked or take hits. What I did Is clear so I wont repeat it. The tribes were dune stawkers, red dragons, and pyr crushers. I cant think of the name of the ones just outside the north gate.
Im not lyeing. Im not trying to spread a myth. I havnt tried to take it out of the Imperial dunes. I am 155 2h melee so the mobs and tribes I fought with are easy for me. I have pulled baying gingos with it but, not anything bigger.
I SAID. The mobs, and tribes did not attack the mount like they wounld a team member. They did not attack it at all while it was with me.
I posted this to see if anyone else had uses for the mount. Not to get the, this is a bunch of crap, responces.
I also use the mount to run around in pyr doing missions and what not.
I know you guys meant well but, dont you have somthing good to add to this thread.
