Best I can tell, guild points/fame are used to buy guild related items or qualify for guild related missions. You will need them to get certain skills needed to build/raze an outpost. There is a trickle of info out there but not enough for me to be more specific. This is a key part of the game IMHO, and I am trying to find more myself.

Yes ... Someone please tell us about guild fame.
We are all trying to get it ASAP, because I know it will be important ... but that is all I know.
Give us some info! Please!

The Guild Fame Progress percentage determines your personal influence to the overall Guild Fame.
If you are new to the guild, everything you do on Atys only has a very small influence to the guild's overall fame. Thus protecting the guild from "wrong" members destroying their hard gained Fame points.
If you are in a guild and you keep on accomplishing missions that increase your personal Fame points for your race, your Guild Fame Progress automatically increases, too.
Once you reach 100%, everything you do has full influence to the guild's fame.
