I've reached the level of Warrior Apprentice and basically wondering, "Where do I go from here? I have about 10,000 money and have light armor and two daggers. For instance, could I just go out and buy a two handed weapon (say, a pike) and start using it? Or should I have someone craft one for me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Stay where you are at until you hit 30.

#1 10k isnt anything.
#2 If you plan on being melee, get heavy armor now.
#3 continue to level with whatever weapon you want. Its your game.
#4 Have someone craft weapons, as store bought ones suck ^_^

Have fun.

Ok sorry for the double post but what I'm confused about is the warrior tree for character development. From what I can tell, once you reach warriior apprentice (aka "fight") you choose either melee or ranged but when do u make that decisiom?

You can use them both. Keep on fighting melee to lvl melee, or buy a gun and lvl range. You can level both. Thats the great part about this game. Do as you wish. You dont pick one or the other

OK. I kinda liked the concept of speciallizing though.

And that is the beauty of the game. You can specialize in melee weapons and/or ranged weapons. You have that choice.

Your attributes go towards either one in health and stamina.

You need the heavy armor. I paid 47,000 for a set of L20 heavy. Its a bit cheaper now.

I bought a L50 2 handed sword tonight for 60,000. It was well worth it.

Level 30 is really the minimum to arrive on the mainline. The critters will eat you up fast.

You will know you are ready when you can take on 2-3 of the highest starter critters at one time.

Good hunting and have fun :) :)

Thanks. Another question... is the character development system similar to SWG where you "complete the boxes" in order to advance?
