My name is Wolfstar and I'm a senior guide in the European English community here in Ryzom.

I live in Hull, UK but I'm originally from Cheshire, UK

Previous games played include: Earth and Beyond, Star Wars Galaxies, Ragnarok Online, as well as many offline games such as Diablo, Daiblo 2, Morrowind.

My hobbies are: PC's, online gaming, driving and eating food.

Hi all, it’s great to be here with you:) ...hmm, well I love to read a lot and that in turn ends in my writing a lot. And I love music, do some amateur astronomy when the sky is clear and the stars do shine. Love adventures and Ryzom happens to be the beginning of one, so I love MMOs…in particular this one. ;)

I also love music, my favourites being Counting Crows, Jewel, Evanescance, Seether to name a few.
My other interests are Digital Photography, miniature painting .. from Rackhams Confrontation range.. though i`m not a gamer, i just paint, as it is very relaxing.

Computers... hmm i couldn`t live without mine :eek: hehehe .. i love PC games, including Gothic II, Morrowind, Knights of The Old Republic, and Neocron.. been playing Neocron (MMOG) for almost 19 months now, and although i still think the game is absolutely brilliant and eargerly awaiting the Dome of York, i`m beginning to want to play more Online games... like Ryzom :)

I am currently living in Wolverhampton working in an IT Support role for a year, to fulfil the placement part of my degree. I am a student at Staffordshire University in Stafford, however I am originally from Warminster in Wiltshire :)

My first entry into the MMORPG world was Asheron's Call 1, which I played for probably 4 years, starting with Beta 2, and in which I volunteered as an Advocate in game, similar to what our guides do in Ryzom. I also had a go with Dark Age of Camelot, Asheron's Call 2 and Horizons, but Ryzom is the first game since AC1 that has really got me hooked :)

My main hobby other than the Internet and Gaming would be visiting theme parks to Ride coasters, and all things Disney, including their theme parks :) I regularly visit Disneyland Resort Paris, and for anyone whose interest, my Favourite Steel coaster is Nemesis at Alton Towers, my favourite Wooden coaster is Megafobia at Oakwood in Pembrokeshire, Wales (You must be dead proud Daedalus lol) but my fave park would have to be Disneyland Paris :)

Hey, I am ttam aka Giram, a member of the Euro-English Community.

I'm 21 and live in London, England. Have done all my life, except a short excursion to the US for a few months after my A-Levels and a few years at Uni down in kent.

Started out in online gaming with QuakeWorld... then I found Starsiege: Tribes and I've been hooked ever since. Moving onto Tribes 2 when it came out and now Tribes: Vengeance. On the MMORPG side I've been playing UO for 4 years on one of the many "free shards", then Ryzom caught my eye. Spent the past 7 months playing Ryzom.

On the single player side of things I started out with clogger back in the day :) Then later came Doom. After that I moved more onto RPGs like Baldurs Gate and Planescape (Black Isle rocks) and a little bit of Morrowind.

My hobbies include Online gaming and game management (I run various "tribes" and a few tournaments etc.) which takes up most of my time. Other time I spend going out with friends (Bowling (which I suck at :p), Movies, Pubs, etc) and of course I enjoy both playing Ryzom. I used to be into model planes n cars n stuff (the ones with actual IC engines in them) but my interest in that has waned somewhat over the years.

Now there's music, in which I am an avid fan of Iron Maiden. Various other bands I listen to though are: Motorhead, Metallica, Nightwish, Wierd Al (so funny sometimes), ACDC, Aerosmith, Gamma Ray, Guns n' Roses, Megadeth, Mike Oldfield, Ozzy, Queensryche, Nickelback, Queen, Rhapsody, Manowar, Skid Row, Savatage. And of course Pink Floyd who were suggested to me by a BT engineer over a cup of tea.

And, er, well... I like to make things explode *hugs lvl 220 mage*

Im called Silverion in game and in RL im from Nord East Italy - .. hmm I'm simply BIG fan of online games i played all what can be played online from telnet MUDs things like Earth, passed on BBS games with PIT, LORD etc .. Then was in Beta for Ultima Online, AC, AC2, EQ, AO, DAOC, Runescape then get also Horizons and SWG and there is probably some others too that i forget to mention :)

Hello, i'm a french player (Evea ingame, i love my charactere :) ).
I'm 27 years old and just maried (wooot). I'm a AO player too (3 years old), and i tried some other mmorpg like Eve online, CoH, AC2 and DAOC during 1 month each but AO call was too strong. I tried Ryzom open beta during 15 days too.
I don't like mmorpg too easy, and i love the games wich need 6 month or more to know the mechanics, with 1M skills an spells and items and choices :D

Gone to AC2. Then Horizons. Now Ryzom. Gone through countless other betas. Played offline games since 20 years mainly Strategy/Adventure/RPG.

This game is my third attempt of mmorpg, first one was The 4th Comin'' and next Never winter night. I like roleplaying In those kind of games, and T4C was the best and easiest game allowing such behaviour. Lots, LOTS of others didn't. SoR is kinda good and I really like the storyline, much more interesting than classical "heroic-fantasy" (no, I wasn't paid to make ads ;p ).

I'm a little concerned about the chat-room : developers may add a "free channel creation support" or split the Region chan' b-cause it will be really hard to follow general discussion, role-play and business all in the same chan' when 200 peoples are here... Mmh ? sounds like I should post this paragraph somewhere else ;)

I am definitely the most mature player (at least in terms of years!) on this server - are you reading this Jaggerot? ;) I've been hardcore EQ for a few years now. Prior to that I've played the whole Black Isle portfolio, Championship Manager, Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights, Diablo etc etc - you get the picture...

I'm gonna try Fyros (with my old alter ego 'Dune' from the open beta), Matis & Zoraii to see which I like best - give me a shout ingame or drop me a PM if you fancy getting killed together, exploding perfectly good resource spots etc etc. I hope to make serious progress in harvesting, crafting and as a melee fighter - never could get used to that dodgy magic carry-on...

Hello there, I'll keep this brief as I hate introducing myself ><, my names Nick, currently residing in the sunny north of the UK, Manchester to be exact. My ingame name is yet to be decided as so far my ingame time is just getting to figure out what I'm doing before choosing my "path" :P

My previous MMORPG experience is slim, with AO and FFXI being the only two I've played that I actually liked, both of which I played for little over a year (I imported FFXI for those of you thinking how I can possibly play a game thats only been released a week for an entire year ><). Let's hope Ryzom becomes the all needed third on my 'Liked MMORPG list' :)

Hi all, Been following Ryzom for a while but only started playing tonight for the first time. Go easy on me ingame, Im a complete noob in MMORPGs; had been waiting for EQ2 to pluck my cherry (sucker for eyecandy) but really loving my first few hrs in Atys-sheesh its already 3am here in N. Ireland and Ive got 3 kids and work to get up to in a few hrs! The gfx engine reminds me of an old favourite of mine Outcast (now whatever happened to that sequel??) As I said a noob to this genre (altho my ingame name BaldArchie relates back to my 1st Runequest character 20-odd years ago at school!) but a hardcore gaming fan, mainly playing FPS on PC /XB but also really partial to a dose of Grand Theft Auto :). SoR isnt my first MMO tho, was a beta tester in Planetside and still play today, and played Eve Online for a coupla months. Oh, and in preparation for getting me RPG chops up to speed I recently completed Morrowind and the first mission pack.
I gotta say one of the most impressive things about the game is you guys, Ive been lurking on the forums / fansites for a while and the community seems well cool and helpful.

Outside gaming as I said Im a dad to 2 girls (7 & 8) and a son (12) who is a huge gamefan too. No doubt he'll have a character on the go real soon :)
My other passion in life is playing the guitar. Anyways, must get to bed, if you see me in game (Baldarchie the Fryos with the questionmarks over his head hehe) stop and say hi.

Hi all my names Rik or Grithef in the game. I live in Leeds but originally lived in Manchester. I'm right old, 30 to be precise and I'm a Marine Underwriter by trade.

My first experience of online games was Star Wars Galaxies, which managed to occupy my life for a solid 8 months or so, to the detriment of my marriage!!!

However i got a bit bored with the game when i maxed out my character. I'm hoping this game is the one for me.

Hobbies include 5-a-side footy, I love watching NFL and most other sports. On the music side my all time favourites are Queen and my current favourites are Muse.

Hi, I'm Euginie ingame, Andrea in real life. I'm 34 and I live in the UK. I was lucky enough to participate in both open and focus betas, so I've been playing the game for months now and I can honestly say I have never come close to losing interest in it.

This game has the best community I've ever found in an MMO - I've never come across such a fantastic group of people, and it is that in particular that helps maintain my love for the game. The guides and GMs rock too!

I'm to be found on the Matis mainland with my friends and fellow guildies, The New Empire, led from the front by our adored Cap'n Sixxus :)

Hurb online, Andy Monahan in real life. Live on the Sussex coast not too far from Brighton. Last MMORPG I seriously played (ie not a trial, ect) was Asheron's Call 2. Nice game - developers dug a hole for themselves with thier inflexible policy of one update (patch/content) a month, which caused sooooooooooooooo much hassle.


This looks good, obviously nowhere near complete yet (mind you all MMORPGS are released as beta versions anyway), lots of stuff in the manual thats not in the game (encyclopedia, ect) but still v. impressed. Can only get better, hopefully with the storyline emerging slowly over the months. Proper single-player and guild quests would be nice as well.

I fully intend to maintain perspective in Ryzom ... no more than 16 hours a day!

Still, I spent five years in Everquest, mixed in a little AO, DAOC, AC, SWG, ATITD2, Graal .... hmm, EVE, COH ... and before that loads of text muds... which I started playing from MUD1! I like gaming .... had you guessed. (and I did real D&D too, and was a Dungeon Mistress!)

Anyway, I am trying Ryzom and it seems a really good game although that router freeze out thing may well sour the experience unless a fix is found. What makes or breaks a world for me is the community, which, on Tryker Isle is a very positive experience =)

Yes, I like Pina Colada, killing Cloppers in the rain, making armour in Hobwelly and foraging in the plains....

Other than that I am in UK, and .... I play female characters because I am one... and .... I am an old gamer =)

Hi all, finally got the game, finally here, just wish I had the time to play for longer than few minutes daily ;). I'll find it eventually ;).

Also been here in beta, since beta3 (aka Open beta 1), beta4 (aka fbt, or Focus Beta) and Final Open beta (tho not too much there, started to have less time to play those days ;) ).

In Open Beta 1 I was famous due to my sneaking capabilities (known to be able to lead anyone to any point with no or very few fights... max. goal : Yrkanis to Zora unnoticed by a single mob, through matis desert, fyros and fyros-to-zoraï primal roots). Also was one of The Healers, actually my character was made to be a healer, tho it ended with a lil bit of other skills ;).

In Focus Beta I was famous due to my fighting and crafting skills (could make high quality pikes, high quality mage staves, high quality medium vests and pants, waving swords, and everything [yes, everything] else in medium quality.. also reached the cap in fighting in the few first weeks of fbt).

But that's the past... not of any importance any more anyway ;)

Hi, this is my 2nd MMORPG (still playing EVE Online, my 1st) and I'm usually on for most of the weekend. I've managed to get my harvesting up to lvl 61 getting the materials to level my crafting so that I can use decent equipment in my melee fighting :)

I'm a light RP'er, just trying to have as much fun as possible and hopefully add some back into the game. At the moment I'm a solo player but want to find a guild that is right for me.

I played OB1 as a Zorai, then a Tryker. I managed to see the four lands and am looking forward to doing so again with my 'real' character! I'm male/55/live in Virginia Beach, Virginia (USA, gmt+5)/and addicted to mmorpg's. Played an EQ cleric till burnout (22 months), then a DAoC cleric till burnout (16 months). I then went to betas looking for my next fix. Didn't like Eve, Planetside,AO, or Lineage2 enough to buy. I finally tried SoR, and here I am.
For me, first the game MUST look good... if it doesn't look good, its not even considered. SoR passed w/flying colors
Once it passes the look/see test, the game must play good; both solo and grouped. On the NA server is a little tough to get a group, population is still very light (guess that is why they are already giving out 2 free weeks), so I had to give up on being a cleric and switch to a Nuker. Solo if fun.
Say Hey to the Zoari offensive mage TOAD if you happen to see me in game :) I'm currently (Nov04) still in newb-land, and don't know how long I will stay.... especially after the big patch yesterday...2 ragus'es ate me up and spit me out.

Dyarta here. Accidently named my character the Accadian word for "the return" or something like that. didn't even know Accadian was a real language til then. Kind spooky that. Anywhos, trying to be a JOAT (jack of all trades) and was pretty good at it prior to patch one. kind of shook up now, especially since I only medical leave right now due to surgery, and at the current standing of the game all I do is rack up DP when I play. I'm a fyros that's very pro-Karavan, anti-Kami, and I have about 50 in every skill, although since the respec I can't craft jewelry or ranged weapons anymore, by choice mind you. I have been around since before some of the GMs (I counted down the days for beta to release), I also play this game in linux (the other operating system). I'm a prominent bug reporter (about 5 fully detailed bug reports a day or so) and I try to be as outgoing and friendly as I can to all members of the community.

I have intricate knowledge of the game's mechanics and am more than willing to help someone if they don't understand a certain feature or why something works or doesn't.

A. Veni Vidi Vici is a famous Julius Caesar quote meaning "I came. I saw. I conquered." It is the name of our guild which is named after the LAN party I run that houses 70 players. Our guild is a Ryzom only guild that has been around since Beta 1.

- Am I too low level to join your guild?
A. We are an open, fun, and social guild. We do not have commitments, obligations, or requirements for players to join us. We openly accept newbies and veteran players.

- How come I messaged you, ran by you, saw you in town/wilderness and said "hi" but you didn't respond?
A. I never log out. If you send me a /tell I always try to return your message when I get back on.

- Why is your name "grandma" but you are a guy? What's your deal?
A. That question is the very reason I call myself grandma, I get a chuckle every time I hear it. Keep in mind I do run a LAN party so I like hearing "I want GRANDMA on my team!" or "You just got owned by GRANDMA, dude!". I liked the story arch and the very cool look of graphics, the people i found so far are also very nice. Especially the Melinoe guild wich were always suportive and able to endure my many endless questioning ;P

I like to make new friends and to play with them, still on second week trial but going to upgrade soon and keep on playing

I think the game as much to offer, but still don´t know much about it ;P

Also think combat could be better (sucks to pounded to death while running away...or just be one hitted by a big ugly mob you didnt even noticed ;P)
and there should also be some team missions (like killing a boss or whatever) that evryone could enjoy (dunno if theres actually some of that already heh...)
Targeting should also be improved i think (little sluggish)

Hello everyone. My main character is Marrs, another refugee from Earth and Beyond. He is a Matis on the mainland. I've not been playing long. I'm just concentrating on combat at the moment so I can travel to other lands as soon as possible.

I also have some other characters - Vela who has just arrived on the Zorai mainland, Toucana in the Lake Lands and Senex who is still on the Fyros newbie island. But I'm playing Marrs most of the time.

I live in the UK so am probably on at odd times compared to a lot of people but I'd like to get involved in more team play. I also enjoy role-playing so feel free to start in-character conversations with me.

I play mostly at the weekend but try to grab an hour before work each day. Enjoying the game a lot at the moment. I especially like the backstory, it makes it quite an immersive game. I hope the missions get more involved with the story with future patches or as I progress. I think Ryzom could be my online home for a long time to come :)

I am a new player Dled + installed for 3 hours yesterday. Been watching over the shoulder of: KaBoom and Sonia ( irl friends Ravens Guild ) a couple of times and decided, while its free :p, to give it a try. Played for 30 mins to lvl 8 magic lvl 6 melee havnt figured craft + forage out yet. :p.

I was a hardcore Daoc player with 8 lvl 50’s 5+1bb on prydwen 1+1bb on avalon 2+1bb on excal ( bbs dont count imo xD ) 3 of em fully toa’d ( real daoc players know what it means :p ). All above rr4L6 wit my main char: Szwok Zerker rr7l5 Mid Prydwen guild Maelstrom. I liked the RvR the most, as this game doesnt have it, yet, i forsee a short stay ( not intended ofc ). When i get hooked i go 100% for ryzom xD. Also i like to Roleplay from time to time. PvE is allright as long u can set the challenge. Crafting = teh bore imo….

Some tips to do this: make sure 2-3 guys always have a stun rod on your first terror mission, usually a leader or two there. Of course have a alien contatinment building since the start

I decided to purchase the game some time ago because I got totally hooked on it and fell in love with the nicest community around as far as I know.

In real life i enjoy playing pnp-rpg's and tabletop wargames, playing and gigging with the band, listening and watching to 'weird-taste' movies and music and enjoying the occasional beer in the evening with the local folks. (which most of the time ends up being a lot of beers early in the morning)

I've become very disatisfied with the current batch of RPGs on the market, and decided to try out Ryzom after quitting World of Warcraft recently. I read that Ryzom will be introducing player created content, which gave me warm fuzzy memories of my MUD and MUSH days, and decided to give the game a look.

I'm looking for an online RPG that has a focus on actual roleplaying, a rich and detailed world, and a friendly and fun community. Ryzom's game setting struck me as being well thought out and very original, so I've decided to give it a go. Hopefully I'll find myself a nice new home here!

This is my first MMORPG but I spent a long time choosing the right one. I was an offline game addict, loved Morrowind, Knights Of the Old Order and Bloodlines but won't be touching them again unless Ryzom is unavailable. I started RPG gaming way back in 1978.

I write a lot, especially short stories and scenarios for RPG games. As I write I imagine characters and play them out. I have continued this into Ryzom but find that, like reading a good book, I lose myself in the character.

This is the 3rd mmo I've played. I played final fantasy XI for a while, and city of heroes for 1 month. I played in the open beta of SoR, but just now bought the game. My character is a Zorai named Tirak, I made him 8 days ago. I like the community on this game, though I wish it were a little more populous. Just started testing this game a couple of days ago and so far I really like it!! I come from the long lost and soon to be closed world of AC2 which was my home sense its realease. Prior to that was was in AC1 for about 2 years and even farther back I was in an old Text based MMORPG that I think is still in exsistance called Gemstone III.

In light of AC2s downfall my entire guild which I am an officer of is looking for a new world to call home. This sounds like a very mature and helpful community like the one we are use to. Has high pontental for us. :)

i am new to role playing games normally spend my time on xbox online games,halo2 and the like.i got ryzom demo foc with a magazine,loaded it in and was completely blown away.i cannot understand how ive never heard of games such as this before especially as they have been around for so many years.ive signed up,my character is annykin,if you meet in game me say hi.
oh yes,im a freshly married dept manager for a french car manufacturer,i live in norfolk and hobbies include landrovers motorcycles remote ctrl aircraft
and spending time on my pc etc etc.my wifes hobbies include,making me do the house,do the garden,and repair her frequently broken landrover etc etc.

Previous games played include: EverQuest (long, loooong ago), ATITD (A Tale in The Desert... I was a beta tester!), There (didn't like it much), Second Life (eeerm... I'll discuss that some other time), Toontown (that's right, I'm a Grown-Up Kid), MYST games 1-4 (not interested in 5), and at least one more game whos name I forget...

My hobbies are: Praying, Music composition, playing viola and guitar, singing, hanging mellow with my budz, baking, learning other languages (specifically Spanish and American Sign Language)

My past gaming experience is vast, but the most previous MMORPGs I've been playing are Star Wars Galaxies, Anarchy Online and City of Heroes & City of Villains.
