Hmm, interesting idea. They might shoot it down because they're looking at adding a chat channel for Trade, but I'll ask anyway. :)

Well I think it is needed in and out of game. Bidding wars and such really cannot take place ingame very efficiently. Having both options will cut down spam in the "future" trade channel ingame.

While on the topic of channels... I think there should be a general or help chat so people with questions and general info about the game can get their questions addressed and allow the atmosphere of the game consume the other channels.

Don't get me wrong, I love helping homins out with issues and all, but I would like to take that plunge into Atys sometimes as well. The everpresent spam that is happening now really makes that a tough thing to do at this time.

Well there is always the technical forum, they stay pretty on-topic there and there are always GM's trolling there. Does that help?

Not all types of trades can be done over a trade channel. Things like bank clearings and very high value/superrare stuff pretty much needs a forum thread... plus it's fun to read over them while at work :p.

One thing that I would greatly like to eventually see, is a system akin to the tradelist generator that helpbot does in AO. An example of a tradelist it generated can be found here (http://forums.anarchy-online.com/showthread.php?t=340180), helpbot's output generation page here (http://tera.kuren.org/ao/items/). Basically you /tell helpbot <drop item in chat> for each item, then you go to the page and tell it how you want to output your tradelist... copy/paste it into a thread and poof it links everything up with stats and all :).
