because Keoni IS male. Hes not kept it a secret at all. I'd point you to the Human behind the Homin post he wrote on a blog, but it was deleted a while back after he left OD.

She is, however, ultimately controlled by a male soul, back here on Earth. Thanks for the link, Ael, that sums it up nicely :) And actually, I used the name Keoni because it was the name that a very lovely polynesian woman chose for me, a few years back. No, it does not sound male, to western ears at least, nor on Atys need it be. But on Earth, it is. For a bit of further insight:
