I've never said anything but nice stuff about Melinoe. I know you've been to our website; you even registered with our forums. Where did this come from? I thought you would have been more sympathetic to our server problems. :(

To answer the original question, guilds are very important to the game of Ryzom. What you can do, how much you will pay, who will help you, etc. is affected by your fame, and joining a guild affects your fame greatly. The OOC guild is actively trying to be an important part of Ryzom and as such is recruiting members who will participate in guild missions to increase its fame (and have fun at the same time, of course :) ).
The OOC guild started with a solid group of players from Betas and has grown a fair bit in the last few weeks. Members have been leveling up and acquiring fame at a fairly decent rate; I am sure you will hear even more about us in the future. ;)

The Out of Cavern guild (www.outofcavern.net) has been around since February 2004. We are a non-aggressive, multi-racial, multi-class guild playing in English on the North American shard (Windermeer).
Our goal is to unite all people of Ryzom into a peaceful and prospering community, where it is good to live and to enjoy the friendship of all.
We'll defend these values with heart and soul and if need be with weapons and magic.

The website was down for one day due to an error, but it has been fixed now. Thanks for your concern.

As to Wrathman...not sure if that was a joke, but OOC has been around a long time. I hope we'll get a chance to meet you so you can get to know some of us.

I found and joined OOC after I started this game. So far they are a very nice group of people. Very helpful and very courteous. I also noticed that most of them have a deep roleplaying background. Roleplaying is not just a word in Ryzom and I hope it will be more prevalent in the future. I am just glad to have joined this wonderful group and be a part of the story.

Of late I've heard some negative things about OOC in game. Probalby becuase of recruiting efforts being made by some member. I don't know who any of the members are really and know even less of the guild. Sometimes spam in region chat turns people off. hard to tell.

I know for sure that this has not been happening in the Tryker lands. I would definitely step in and put a stop to it if the guild was ever to be spammed in region chat. If there's ever a time when this -is- happening, be sure to contact the guild leaders immediately so they can handle the problems themselves. I know they would not appreciate any member abusing the chat system in the name of the OoC guild without them knowing.

LOL. No I started this guild with several people who had been playing the Mystgame URU: Ages Beyond Myst, on line. Part of it plays in the city of Ae'gura, which was situated in a cavern.
When the on-line possibility was stopped many of us applied for the beta test of Ryzom. Hence the name 'Out of Cavern'. (OOC).
In the early days someone suggested to change the name because of the Out of Character meaning. But we decided not to.

No need to apologize. I think its fine to answer a question on region chat. Your guild has created a certain "buzz". Sometimes that can be a positive thing for a guild. However, these things can take a life of their own. Players not even related to the guild can harm its name by talking about the guild in region chat etc. I certainly have seen the OOC name come up several times in region chat. While its the only guild I know by its initials, it can start to remind you of those cheesy ads you see on TV that run over and over and over and you want to scream when you see it come on.

Most people in Ryzom are super nice people. A very nice community thus far.

Heh. so you must vist the site allot if you noticed our corrupt database. I dont check our site for a couple days and when something goes wrong it gets posted on the main ryzom forums, hehe. Well all is well now, after about 50 emails from people telling me about the problems, lol.
