Within a years of playing ryzom my Mailbox and Forums has worked once. It doesn't matter what I click on it's always "please wait....." then "Error blah blah blah blah.php"
I'm sure this was suposed to be fixed about ten times about a million years ago, but mine still doesnt work
The impression I got from GMs is that im part of a minority and the mailbox is about as fixed as fixed is gonna get.
So what about me and the minority...?
Anyone else still got this problem? Anyone found a solution to this problem!?

nope it's been working for ages for me. Last year we couldn't use the ingame forum because our guild name had spaces in. But it's all working fine now..
is it your mail and forum that don't work?

yeah neither of them workfor me, but both work perfectly for other guild members, the only thing i can think of is it could possibly be something to do with my ISP anyone here on NTL that has/doesnt have the same problem?

I have NTL and I occasionally have the same problem. Unfortunately, since it's intermittent, I can't give you any info that may help you or the devs solve it :/

Just logged into my gf account on her laptop which is using my internet and still had the same problem so guessing it is ISP but whats wierd is altough it displays an error it still sends my messages but I can't delete messages. I click delete and i get the same old "please wait... Error" so i close down the mailbox load it back up and the message is still there.

Have you opened the outgoing network ports in your firewall / router?
You may also be having network pathing issues. (bad node along the way)
Network FAQ (http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7650)
And if you have a LinkSys switch you may want to check the LinkSys FAQ (http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=631)

Hello,
for me the mailbox/forum system never really worked. This is because i have to use a proxy for http-connections. Ryzom itself uses the proxy configuration of windows (or the internet explorer), but ingame Ryzom doesn't care about any proxy configurations.
I wrote some mails/post nearly one year ago about this, but noone seemed to be interested in that problem.
Oh, i forgot, the ticket system doesn't work because of the same reason for me.
Hope this issue will be fixed.

I am on NTL as well and I get errors every time I use IG mail. I always get a cgi timeout error when I send mail but it still gets delivered. I receive mail with no problems at all (or so it seems, I've not had anyone say they sent mail that I didnt respond to). I can never delete mail it hangs on the confirmation stage (the window never opens for it).
If I log in from work on a different isp, mail works without any problems. I dont have any different firewalls runing on the different machines so I can only assume it is something to do with NTL & Ryzom.
I also experience problems loading cgi apps on web sites (I use firefox) when Ryzom is running but again I don't get the same problem from work which seems to point even more so to NTL+CGI+Ryzom screwing up somewhere between them. How, what and where I havent a clue ;) but maybe with some collated info some guru can work it out :)
Forums works fine as does tickets.....

maybe NTL is using transparent proxy..
check HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR (should not exist) and/or REMOTE_ADDR/HOST (should be your IP)
http://www.cgihost.com/cgi-bin/env.cgi
i tried with transparent proxy (linux/squid), but mailbox/forum worked fine.

My gf has a different ISP and as far as i know she has the same firewall settings as i have on my machine, but it all works perfectly round her gaff.
I think Snake is hitting the nail on the head with the "NTL+CGI+Ryzom screwing up somewhere between them" theory. Tickets also work perectly for me so I guess its *fingers crossed* time for that guru to appear :D

OK checked that and HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR (is my IP) and REMOTE_ADDR/HOST (isn't my IP)

it may or may not be the problem.
only nevrax can answer if libwww they are using works correctly with (transparent) proxy (it did with squid, but i only tested it once).
