I have to say I'm glad to be here, and the few players I have come across in newbie island seemed to be very nice people. That and the crafting system are the things I found more attractive in the game so far (was a bit tired of PvP-heavy MMOs). As many new players I am a bit concerned about not having seen many people online, but I guess that will change when I hit mainland.

Also if any fellow crafters would like to give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it. I chose a mixed build (crafting/harvesting/magic) and have not found any specific troubles so far, but I would like to know how to find plans for new items other than spending my talent points on them. I have noticed that buying materials from NPCs is very costly, and there are a few things that I find it difficult to harvest. Is there any good online guides on harvesting/crafting? I was unable to find any.

First you normally will find more people on the mainland.

If like to learn about harvesting, you may check

With these you should get a good start at harvesting and all.

Crafting is a bit of an art. Try making some clothing in turquoise, red and blue. When you are able to do that you will have a good grasp of the crafting system.

Also if you post your toon's name and race, someone may visit the Islands to help you.
