Is there a compiled list of Atysian names anywhere? Preferably separated by race?

I know Bmystix has every NPC name in their database. Is that a good way to start?

Not every NPC name. There are still many NPC's that are not in their list.

Did we read the same list?

the list i read were names such as Jena, Ma-duk, Hoi-cho etc etc

I was hoping for a list that would have both our names on it fry, and possibly a little info about us! :D

maybe the guys at ballistix could look into this? ;)

I mentioned Bmystix cause they have a database of NPC names. It would be easy for them to generate an NPC first name/last name list.

It would be up to Nevrax to generate etymology for names, there might be some of this captured in the lore.

I think something as grand as player names/history/lore should be executed by anyone as they see fit, but preferably a single motivated guild, and, with Oshido's approval, fed back into the Bmystix site.

I did a quick query of the names of all NPCs in our database. You can see it here (http://www.ballisticmystix.com/test/names.txt). I didn't do any filtering so there's some things listed that aren't really names (Ancient Dryads Kami Ambassador, for example).

They're not sorted by race but once you look at a few, it's pretty easy to figure that out.

The Tryker are pretty easy to spot. Most have the appostrophe (Mac'Wiley Jidgen, Be'Gany Liffan). Zorai names have a strong east Asian influence (La-Viang Fuan, Nao Li-Qiao). Matis names all sound slightly Italian to me (Sirgio Besti, Liccio Chiacco), and the Fyros ones are the ones with lots of X's, Z's and such (Xycaon Tindix, Zemus Zessen).

I always think thr fyros have a slight latin sound to some of their names, probably just me thinking that tho ;)

So alwyne, what do you think about an established player char list with a lil info about that char? its a big job but i know you dont shy away from that kinda nonsense :p

It would be a pretty simple thing to add a "roster" page of sorts where people could register their character name and type in a small paragraph about themselves. I guess I've never done something like this as it doesn't seem like there'd be a great deal of interest. Heck, in my last game, it was tough to get guildies to do that for their own characters.

I could well be wrong, but I think he was more referring to a list of "famous" players? The problem then is who decides who is famous ;)

Noin I think that is why we are confused.
Now be a good little celebrity and write a paragraph on yourself. I will be checking grammar and punctuation so don't slack off.

Should I write it in 3rd person, or would that sound a little to much like a megalomaniac? (Spiff)
