Some of the dev shots we seen come to life since they started poping up some years ago.
But some like these under i never heard or seen.
Would really like an update if the are planned or just another old ide what never made it throuh testing.

Those may be shots of the creatures that are in the advanced lands we should be in by now. I don't know when we will advance past Atys-1 onwards, I don't even see it on the radar... The Canopy, Deeper Roots and other planets... we used to hear about them, now they seem like a dream.
Everytime I go back and read the early Dev chats I just have to sigh and wonder when we will hear more about the things talked about then.

Likely once they get this financial stability bit worked out. Everyhting they have done recently is in attempts to get a larger subscriber base. Once that is all sorted, and they are "out of the woods" I would expect it not to be too difficult to wrangle up some more liquid funds to progress the game along.
Sadly with a tiny subscriber base it is not worth doing that, so first things first.
Honestly I think they did quite well with RoS (isn't it Ironic that is SoR backwards?) and the completely free trial. Hopefully the Ring will be out in a month or two, and that if it all works right should really be a revolution. If Ring takes off, I think the sky is the limit, really. Including all the things that have been talked about in the past.
They have been very clear that Ring is not to canabalize Ryzom, but to ensure that Ryzom is viable.

I also think that once they "sort" things out, things will improve. That said, my main concern is what kind of financial stability is to be considered? one thing is to pass the observation period, let's hope so, but afaik, that does not mean the debt disappears. The other one is to figure out the number of subscribers needed to balance things out, let alone make a profit. I don't know the direct and indirect costs of operating the service, but one could write down a few numbers regarding server / hosting, salaries for paid CSRs, marketing, developers, etc. and the only source of income right now is the monthly fee (afaik, paid ring scenarios will not be available at ring release). I think that, being largely optimistic although not having the numbers and based purely on obervation and guessing, the number of paying subscribers remains below the 10k. One could think that the ring really needs to be a revolution and to launch the number of subscribed players, but at the current rate, is the cost model sustainable? are we generating enough income to foresee an steady progression of the game, or barely allowing a "maintenance" development mode + the eventual point content updates?.

Well, there's things we can do to improve matters.
Boosting the game, recruiting friends.
I wish there was a 'bring a friend' program as me and Kos have dragged several friends into at least TRYING Ryzom :)
So, you know, get out there and help promote the game we love - but honestly.

By the way... It's been a while since the webkit was last updated

Do acridel and ema and all our other glorious vid makers submit their creations to fileplanet and/or other gaming sites?
I think this would be a fantastic way of bringing new players to the game, along with showcasing the talent of some of our current players.

yea, i've actualy been able to convince one of my buddys to join - and he's loving the game so far - the only thing that had held him back before was not bieng able to _run_ ryzom.
we need to go out and find our friends, tackle them down, and force them to play - they _will_ appreciate it :) (though maybe not the 'tackling' part..)
