That's right, the new podcast is coming. So calm down young whippersnappers!!
I am doing a kind of "re aligning" of the show, chopping it up and reordering it. I need to tighten up production of it.
So, I'm thinking of doing it in "segments'..so far the segments I have are:

1) Intro/What am I doing in game this week?
2) Lore of the week
3) Player of the Week (with either audio interview or me reading a text)
4) Featured band
5) What's hot on the boards? (a overview of one of the exciting threads we have every week. And yes, I'm serious. We have some killer chats on these forums.)
6) Closing

...sound good? I think it will help me with editing and production to have it tightened up.
I am also toying with two other ideas:
1) A video podcast...every moth or so, a 10 minute clip (10 minutes is the max on youtube) of some intersting event, filmed in game..
2) An actual Ryzom ZINE! That's right, every month, you can receive (for FREE of course...copyrights homin, copyrights..) in your mailbox/po box. I would print player written lore, artwork, and maybe some monthly installment of a Ryzom comic. If interested, you would send me your address and I'd send it along.
Anyway, the baby yubo just had an argument with the kitty and my wife is upset. They are fine. She has never seen a pecking order in full effect until now.
See ya in game!

That sounds great. :) After perusing each issue, they would become prized shelf fodder.

All the ideas sound great, I just have a question about a magazine, would it not be easier to just have a PDF for download purposes?

It would be cheaper, save a tree or two and also have the benefit of immediate delivery.

Or am I missing something really obvious?

One thing is for certain, community-wise Beau, you are awesome, thanks for all this effort you put in, on our behalf :)

Although it sounds interesting, be carefull with player written lore in a magazine. Nothing will be official or canon and you may need to remind your readers of that time and time again. I'm a fluff nut myself, but there needs to be a clear distinction between the established lore and the fanmade one.

well the lore could be based off current events, though theres not much to write about i guess but who won / defended what op.

I totally respect this and if anything like this ever happened, on my podcast or otherwise, I'd let players know.
Lately I am kind of from the school of "if Gameforge ain't going to make it, WE should." I mean, after all, we are the players, and we should either have a hand in shaping the lore or, in the case of the "official" sources not updating the "official" lore, we should just see what we can do.
I'm confident that players can distinguish the two.
I have put events together before and was warned about where it fit into the lore, or didn't, but at the point in the timeline we are at, we should writing the future, instead of waiting for a patch to tell us what the future is.
Anyway, thanks for all the responses guys...gotta record this weekend!
