If you wish to purchase a key for the Saga of Ryzom, it is my obligation as Community Manager to advise you to purchase it through a well-known and trusted source, such as an online retailer you have used before or your local gaming store (if you're lucky enough that they have a boxed set in stock). Personally, I would advise you to buy a boxed set from a store if you can find one, or use Amazon, but in the end the choice is of course yours.

I am usually not trusting of ebay sellers too but well, 5 euros and their ebay thread looks very professional. I'm trying to be a little nice and help in info providing, the trust part is up to you. I am a customer of this 5euros deal btw, not part of Kroco.
And if those 2 posters above me did buy the code successfully in the end, kindly edit your post to something positive to give the correct message for those who wanna get into MainLand like me. Thanks.
Also i thought it might be a good idea to get this sticky as this convienient methods could build up a good base of new accounts/players which is a much needed booast at this period. I think there are a few other companies that do such deals too, those who know could let GM/Moderator credit it and post it up too.

The thing is I've usually got no problem with eBay sellers. I bought my copy off of eBay with no problems whatsoever. However, your original post just gave an email address and the instructions "send them money." That's shady.

With your link to the eBay page, though, it seems like this might be a good idea for anyone who can do it. How many copies do they have available (obviously, I can't read Dutch...nl is Netherlands, right?)?

What they are selling are cds with the client that were distributed as a free of charge addition to a gaming journal in germany back in 2005.

The cd-key on those cds gives 1 month of free play which is evidently more than enough in current sircumstances.

So don't be hard on the Original Poster before you actually find out what is that he is proposing. The guy tries to help the community but all he gets is rather impolite comments...

Thanks for your kind words but it is alright with me. It is human nature to doubt especially $ matters . Maybe my bad for not stating the original source to where i got it.

I understand what you're saying, but the original post was just an email address. It was shady. However, now that he posted a link to the seller's eBay site everything is OK. ;)

Hopefully this seller has a huge box of unopened Ryzom CDs and we'll see a nice influx of folks on the mainland! :D

Yeah, it may sound uncertain and I have no idea if it works or not as I already have my access.

But on the other hand - it's just 5 dollars (and safely through Paypal), if it was a scam, it just needs 1 dissatisfied customer posting on these boards to stop it. If it does indeed works - it's great to see new players again!

More, people that never seen the box, i suggest you to buy it as it is a great 'art' concept.
If you are a collector, it's a 'must have'.

Edit: as someone asked ppl to tell how they acquired the box, i need to be precise: the above mentioned site is not the one where i bought ryzom as i have bought the box in 2004 at a regular shop (fnac) in my town. I simply searched at some online shop to see if ryzom was present.

Now that I've posted the big notice in the original post, I hope I can rely on you all to post some more conventional sources for boxed games, and of course to notify us all if you have any bad experience with the retailer mentioned by the OP.

Due to the special circumstances we are in, the Community Management team (across all servers) discussed what to do about the thread and it was decided that a large obvious note in the starting post was the best course of action for the time being. While we can't advise or condone any specific method of purchase for obvious reasons, it is in everyone's best interests for more people to make it to the mainland from Silan.

so as boroshi suggests, why not turn it into a list of places that ppl have managed to get cd's from. we could make a nice list of places to avoid too :) the more info we the more advised a choice ppl can make :) and i believe anybody who has acquired a cd so far shud post here saying how they found it and what they think :)
