How hard is it, then, to travel to all the different lands and get the crafting plans? Is there a way to teleport, or will I have to travel through exceptionally hard areas? I'm only around 20th level.

It's incredibly hard. Pretty much the only way you are going to make it at that level is to learn how to sneak past the animals and max out your death penelty.

There is no easy way to get from land to land until after you've made the trip once. After you've made the trip, you can buy teleport tickets. Note, you have to buy the ticket from your destination, so buy a return ticket to your homeland before you set out. Then buy a return ticket from your destination so you can easily return.

Your best bet is to wait until you have a group large and strong enough to fight through (sneaking really isn't an option due to the latest patches).

Kitin patrols can aggro at about 100 meters. However, the lucky thing is that they can be obscured by LOS. I've had patrols pass within 10 meters of me but been safe sitting on the other side of a hill. (Not recommended seeing as how they wander a lot and could have easily come over that hill).

Kitin bosses on the other hand are worse. They aggro at least 200 meters out and can see through walls.
