Easier to execute than the other "Win *item*" but still, how would they win it, to get them involved with Ryzom instead of merely playing it, how long would the competition itself last etc etc...?

I really appreciate you pushing us, driving us (I mean it). Someone has to be there to make sure we ACT. Thank you.

Good point, I honnestly didn't even think about that. In my mind it was so simple (rushing to post ideas and replies before heading to work...)

How about to be elligible, they have to complete all basic missions on Silan and arrive on mainland ? Not everyone does all missions. Sometimes they go streight to mainland. They have to put in some effort to be elligible after all.

Anyone care to debate or have other requirements ?

Moved to Brainstorming for further discussion - this isn't really something that can be done by the community at the moment either.

Hehe, I love being the one with only a few ideas but then I step back and analyse everyone else's, so they can work (most of the time even better than mine!).

Tell me if I'm getting too overbearing though... I do like some of these ideas and I don't want you to feel I'm putting you off.

Now, yes... hmm... how about, once they finish just the final mission (the one that you get the ranger armour or whatever it is from). On completion, you're told by Chiang you can get a free year pass to the ML or whatever by submitting your character info to somewhere on the forum/website. Something simple like a recount of their experience on Silan - best recount, made for people not yet playing Ryzom, gets the pass. Then it wouldn't necessarily have to be 12 months, but could be a month, so every month someone wins.

Elaborating on that, actually, it could rotate. So the first month is someone just completing Silan showing their ideas on Ryzom, second month is someone from the Mainland on the gameplay in general and a third month is something else... maybe a random topic of choice. Then it's a bit of a freelance thing in the final month, getting some really varied entries. Winners get submitted to either something like MMORPG.com and put somewhere on the website (Beginner's Section - information from the players on Ryzom?).

Winning a subscription can be developed in so many ways. I dunno... I'm going off on tangents again :P

Thx for the brainstorming.

I had thought of the mission thing but how can the web site detect if the player really did this mission ? What if someone simply passes on the infos to someone else who goes register this on the site ?

I wonder if something like a treasure hunt mission would qualify for this.

Any more ideas, debates ?

Well, maybe it's kinda secret... only told to Silan players once they complete said mission... and to ML people when they talk to a city welcomer or likewise (I know you pay to get to the ML, but people may benefit from an extra thing)

Maybe you wouldn't even have to know, anyway. I mean, a 3 month subscription for 1 person every 3 months or so shouldn't take too much money out of the Dev's pockets, so anyone could apply as long as they had *some* form of account.

How about those kind of missions:

- you have to dig up a special ingredient used to make medecine for someone who is sick. That ingredient is randomly hidden in a hudge Silan area and reappears after lets say 1 week ?

- you have to acheive a 100% perfect crafting on Silan ?

- you have to go to the middle of the Goo lake to retrieve a special artifact
