Project Wonderful Advertising Campaign [Archive] - Ryzom

View Full Version : Project Wonderful Advertising Campaign

I have created a Project Wonderful account and have begun advertising in the darkest corners of the internet. The ads don't see much action but they're free. The campaign, in 24 hours, has only garnered about 200 views from about 30 spots. That's 30 more places that people can learn about Ryzom, and just maybe, 200 more people have the name in their heads now.

Unfortunately, my banners are absolutely basic and kind of boring. They can be found here, as examples: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v708/orb_dragon/ryzom_ads/

What I ask of those of you who are creatively inclined and/or motivated enough is to help me help Ryzom better than those weeny ads of mine. Maybe something animated with a couple of frames to sum up what the main page says; a living world, a storyline that includes YOU, a classless levelling system, "try now for free".

The banner sizes are on this page, and must be no more than 100 kb in size: http://www.projectwonderful.com/adtemplates.php

You are most welcome to gank and better the banners I've put forth, I sure as hell don't own them. Post your banners here, and I'll upload them to my PW account. Who knows? Maybe you'll see your banner someday soon :D

- Lomi

Edit: 35,504 unique views, 60 clickthoughs.

Awesome initiative ! :D I always see PW ads for some obscure F2P games when I read my favourite webcomics. I think it's a great way to spread the word on the internet.

That is exactly where I got the idea from. I keep up with dozens of webcomics (via thewebcomiclist.com) and I forever see "Your ad here for $0.00", so I thought I'd grab a few of those spots for meself :D

"Favorite webcomics" have VERY expensive spots, though. The most expensive PW spot, in fact, is Something*Positive at some $38 a day. S*P was the very first webcomic I read :D

If I had that kind of disposable income, I'd consider bidding on an S*P spot for a day. That would see a LOT of eyes!

How about an ad on here (http://www.projectwonderful.com/advertisehere.php?id=27105&type=1)?

I'm currently bidding $.00-$.01 so my campaign can go on as long as possible, and I don't have a full-length banner ad. My 'creativity' fizzled, and I have a button, some squares, rectangles, halfbanners, and skyscrapers. No leaderboards, no banners :/

But wow, does that site see some action!

Edit: I put two halfbanners together to make a whole banner. It's not pretty, but it's serviceable. The ad spot requires approval >:(

The webkit (http://www.ryzom.com/en/webkit_1.html) has banners.

Here (http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x122/defenestration_bucket/Ryzom/ryzombanner460x68050209a.gif) and here (http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x122/defenestration_bucket/Ryzom/ryzom468x60_1_061306.jpg) are 468x60 banners I've made.

Oooh, those are very pretty banners!

They are in the mix, with a weight of 5 (the 'it'll do' banners have a weight of 1).

Good Idea ..It all helps.

Just a reminder the Game is Officially called "Ryzom" and no longer called "The Saga of Ryzom" something to watch out for as not all the artwork is up to date.

*doh* Now I have to change all my ads >.<

Thanks for the heads-up, Mokoi!
