European players, those of us in North America are waiting with baited breath to read reviews from you guys on the state of Ryzom in its release. What has changed since open beta? Is there now, as has been promised for so long, content? Do the NPCs finally have something to say? How about the Karavan? Are there missions beyond the generic ones from beta? Have stats changed? And the XP system, is it still limited to 3000? Do you still have to be in a team to share XP for a kill? We’re very curious to learn the answers to any of these mysteries.
Thanks
Seether

Only change i noticed so far is the new Magicians Amplifier (not Magicians Glove as previously stated). Its like a staff but has a curly end like a shepherds crook. Classed as a hand to hand weapon, and does smashing damage too. Its craftable also :)

Ozric, are u shure, the gloves are trashcanned?
Officially the staffs have been.
Or was there some kinda sarcasm in your post?

Yes sure, no gloves. The curly style must be the medium quality staff. Crafting with what is still called the Magician Talus Staff plan produces a straight staff, called Magicians Amplifier, the curly staff is also called Magicians Amplifier. Its the curly style one you start with tho if you choose a mage pack, and its also curly if you buy from Melee Weapon Merchant.
This brings up a bug however, when doing a mission to craft Talus Staffs, as the Magicians Amplifier is not recognised as being a Talus Staff and so is not accepted for the mission.

There seem to be almost zero changes compared to the beta. New chars now have a shield, too (which, in best nevrax tradition, is "unnamed...something"), mages still use staffs. No sign of the close combat melee tree either. Still the old q25, q50,... harvesting skills.
The only change I saw is the shield and that mage staffs have now a "master hand to hand" skill description.

The artwork for the game box is very good and the manual describes what you need to see so I will say its a very well presented box with clear instructions.
We hope that everyone of you enjoy the game and have fun.

No sign of the close combat melee tree either.
Close Combat tree comes in at lvl 51, as it did in beta.
Also noticed, some new titles. No more "novice harvester", the title is now "forager apprentice".

The character creation you saw in the trailers was from Beta 2, the one in open beta is the current version.
