I'm experimenting with crafting, and I was wondering if anyone knew the details of how the characteristics of an item are determined. For example, one of the characteristics of a buckler is durability. If I add basic goari shell as armor shells one at a time, the durability increase like this: 13, 26, 36, 40, 44. In other words, it's not just additive. So, how is it determined? I'd like to be able to know in advance how good an item I'm making is going to be without having to try every permutation of mats first. Has anyone figured this out yet?

I've heard that the preview values aren't as accurate as they should be and that this is to be fixed in one of the upcoming patches (Patch 1 i think).
My guess on why the increments aren't constant is that there's a value cap (Wich the lowest Q mat you're using determines along with your crafting action.) and the system tries to adjust the values so they don't exceed the cap while retaining their relative values (relative to the current maximum) as you get closer to it.

Each Q level has a cap on each stat, and yes the numbers are a tad goofy.

Not sure if gloves/amps are still goofed up, but pre patch one, if you used choice grade staff materials to make an amp... the magical bonuses of the amber were degraded some how.

I heard, but have not tested yet, that this was fixed in patch one or one of the mini patches after it. If anyone has this info, I would love to know one way or the other.
