For melees.

I just checked both out, pre-patch dodge was better than parry for me, even with my shield (i'm 100+ 1h melee). I've always been dodging pre-patch, even with heavy equipment.
Now it looks like parry's gone better than dodge (using my shield), on the mobs i tested it, using dodge nearly got me killed and left the mob well alive, using parry allowed me to kill it.

I know it's the way it's meant to be: melee grunts are supposed to parry, "lighter" guys supposed to dodge but the modifiers on item infos are still 0/0... a bit confusing, that's why i'm asking if anyone else noticed something like that.

Check it out and tell me if i'm wrong or not (before i train the opening... :p); this would clear the "should i dodge or should i parry?" question once and for all.

Little reminder, this is only for melee chars... i didn't check light suits as i'm no mage myself.

Actually it depended on the mobs. Parry was actually better on dodge for certain mobs. I have tested it out prepatch and found this to be so. This is even more noticable when you are wearing heavy armor which has action penalty. Action penalty is supposed to incur a penalty on dodge as well. I don't think it was working prepatch that way, but now it seems to work like it should.

I have not had a chance to see their fix today yet so I'll have to retest things but last night mobs were simply ignoring my armor dodge OR parry.
