The keycode in the shipping email from ebgames it not working on the registration page.

Keycode came in this format:
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-X

Did everyone else get that format or:
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Help would be greatly appreciated.

When I registered on the website, there were two spots for entering the codes. One spot was for the CD key on the back of the cd envelope and there was another spot at the very bottom for entering the pre-order key that flags your account for the free in-game item. Check to make sure you are entering the correct key in each place.

Yup. Quite sure. Put the pre order code in from an email I got from ebgames.com. The site kept rejecting it.

I ordered two copies of the game so the email came as two preorder codes. That is why I wondering if it was cut off. That is why i was wondering what format working codes came in.

The two they sent me were

XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-X

but my suspicion is the they were supposed to be

XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

just like the CD key was.

Anyways, thanks again for your help with this.

I also noticed that someone else posted that the pre-order key is case sensitive whereas the CD key is not. Beyond that, I have no idea what it could be.

Yea i think its an EB problem...all the preorder code problems ive heard of are codes from EBgames...

If the code is from EB games, call 1-877-432-9675 and work with their customer service reps until you are given a new code. They are aware of this problem and have been getting new batches of working pre-order codes - and they can give these out over the phone or via email.

This approach worked for me after the second call. By now, I am sure it would only take you one phone call to resolve the problem and get working pre-order codes for your pre-ordered games.

Good luck.
