Since I just started today I went with Matis. I am just trying to get a feel for the game (like many of you that did not join Beta) =). Anyways hope to meet you all in game.

I like Matis and Fyros.... although I've been playing Fyros alot since Open Beta... I just got my CDs today and intend to pick up Fyros again after I've completed patching

I'm going Matis, not because of "elf fettish" but because thats where all my guild mates are. I kind of wanted to go Zorai just to be different but Id rather have my beta freinds around me than be different and all on my own. Maybe later I'll start a cool blue Zorai.

Zorai seems the least chosen civilization. Dunno why. Maybe because of their strange looks.

Fyros are the coolest, in my opinion. They have a certain Native American motif to them.

Aside from my main, I spent some time in beta playing a Zorai. The masks are really cool but my perception of their look (African tribal) conflicts with the culture in the game (obviously influenced by Southeast Asia).

Matis seem kind of generic (but very nice looking), Trykers seem -too- cute for my liking. I might try each some day, just so I undertand it all better.

I went with Tyker in beta...I liked the CUTE Oh so PAINFULLY cute looks. BUT...The harvesting and crafting as a Tyker is not for the faint of heart, some materials are hard as HECk to find or the nodes just too fragile to get anything of value from.

So when I got my copy out of the box and loaded up, I decided to try Fyros. Welp I HATE the haircuts...but the harvesting is not like pulling teeth, and in fact I foundmyself tripping over prespawned nodes...which in beta...the Tyker lands only had ONE city with those. (this meant you had to find a higher level harvester that was in the mood to prospect for you for about 10 to 15 minutes...maybe less).

I just don't like the Matis homeland, had a Matis in beta and dumped her at level FOUR mage/fighter. And I have a personal problem with the masked race, knowing it is a Kami loyalty mask helps a little with dealing with them, but I still want to be able to see my own face. I guess since I have nothing to hide, I don't feel a need to put on the mask.

Fyros in my case because I expected the landscape to be rather open (which it indeed is) because for a start I wanted to have unblocked view for safety reasons ;)

I went with Fyros in the end, but I made a Tryker beforehand, just to get the hang of the game a little. The only thing I really don't like about the Fyros is the make's facial hair... Ack! Cut it off, cut it off!

I'm tempted to try a Zorai, because they look cool.

But I'll never be the race I truly want to be... the Gibbais... so cool.
