I saw on a gaming forum that Ryzom came out today.
I havent followed it that much, but i wuld like to try it out, however the local Game and Virgin have never heard of it, and say they wont be stocking it.
Amazon.co.uk doesnt have it, and i cant find a download for it on this site along with buying a CD key.
Whats the deal? Was i wrong about it being released today in the UK?

Sigh it's a long story I'm sure a GM or some nice member will explain, it was brought up several times in the old forums but the new site and forum were launched only hours ago lol. Youv'e missed all the BETAs so it's too late to try it atleast until a trail version ends up on fileplaner prob give that a month or 2. The basic situation is Theres mixed release dates france(where the game was made) release date was today, for the rest of europe it differs from 17th-24th uk being 24th as it only just got a uk distributor. Some of us have preordered from neighbouring countries such as france and germany, if you check the other forum topic here it explains it doesnt matter where you buy your version from, apart from say manual which can be dl anyway.

Apparently, the game is not available in the U.K yet... reason.? because Neverax have been dragging their heels in finding a U.K. publisher... (apparently, now its supposed to be Ubisoft), in the meantime, while our European friends enjoy the game and get a head start... we in the U.K lose out. It sucks big time. The French hate our guts.
we`ll just have to wait, pray, and wait a bit more i think.

I was gonna try Alapage myself, but i`m not confident enough in french language... so i`m just gonna wait now

I ordered from Alapage on Wednesday late afternoon and I have the game installed on my machine tonight (Friday). Well worth a try. Online sites are all the same anyway. As mentioned, use an online translator if you need to.
Or this little alapage guide I just wrote. :)
To order from alapage.com
- Go to http://www.alapage.fr/
- Next to the RECHERCHE (search) button, type: Ryzom (then ENTER :) )
- Click on the Saga of Ryzom link. On your right, you will see a "Ajouter au panier". That's your "add to basket"
- A pop-up will ask you whether to "Terminer votre commande" or "Continuer vos achats". Choose the former (means you are done shopping).
- You will get confirmation screen. Click on "Terminer votre commande" on the right hand side again.
- On the next screen, enter your e-mail address and select "Non, vous êtes nouveau client." (No, you are a new customer), then press "Valider"
- Here is the translation of the fields to fill in:
Votre nom: Your last name
Votre prénom: Your first name
Votre e-mail: guess :)
Confirmez votre e-mail: Confirm your e-mail
Choisissez un mot de passe: Choose a password
Confirmez votre mot de passe: confirm it
If you tick the box at the bottom, you agree for alapage to send you offers and various bits of spam. :)
- Still with me? Let's move on to the address page:
Civilité: M for Mister, Mme for married women and Mlle for unmarried ones
Nom: Last name
Prénom: First name
Adresse: Address (or name of company)
Adresse suite: Second line of address
Informations complémentaires: Additional info. You can most likely ignore this unless you want to indicate on which floor you live. In that case, fill in the last box.
Code Postal: Postcode
Ville: Town
Sélectionnez votre pays: Select your country
Téléphones: Phone numbers (domicile = home. The others are optional)
Donner un nom de cette adresse: Labeol this address (so you know that "My Home Address" is just that, for instance)
Vous souhaitez que cette adresse soit enregistrée dans votre carnet d'adresses ?: Would you like to save this address to your address book?
- Scroll down a bit:
"Adresse de facturation : souhaitez-vous recevoir votre facture à une autre adresse ?": "Billing address : Would you like to receive an invoice at another address?" (I would choose no personally, unless you like making your life difficult ;) )
- Press "Terminer votre commande"
- You then get to choose your Mode d'expedition, i.e. you shipping mode
Standard: Within 5 days
Express: 2 or 3 days, depending on whether there is a week-end within the delivery lead time.
- Press "Terminer votre commande"
- Now come the payment details:
Ignore "Saisissez ici votre numéro de bon d'achat ou de chèque cadeau :" unless you have a gift voucher.
Paiement par carte bancaire : Payment by bank or credit card
Choisissez votre carte: Select your type of card
Indiquez votre N° de carte: Enter your card number
Expire à fin : Expires
mois: Month
année: Year
Indiquez votre Numéro de contrôle: Enter the security code (3 digits at the back)
- Hit "Valider" (ignore the rest of the page. It's there to allow payments by cheque, phone or other means)
- I think you might get another confirmation screen but, by now, you should be able to find the "Terminer votre commande" or "Valider" button on your own. ;)
Hope this helps,
Wendy
