Is The Armlet Bugged?

I have read that the armlet is bugged but would like to get an official response. I have used the item and have now read that you should not. Is this true? Will my character explode or something? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know it's basically a shield.

right now it looks like it can be worn as a shield with 2.5% protection, and 10 encumbrance. The shield has a bugged logo in the inventory but works like a normal shield. Note : you can't wear a shield unless you have a 1h weapon equiped and it doesn't give an error message when you try to use it with a 2h weapon/tool.

Yea as soon as I put it on I got a message in red saying it was worn out and I should seek a new one LOL!

Weird, my doesn't say its worn out.. I guess they ran out of new ones and gave you an used 2nd hand one :P

Actually the icon on my shield is there, it shows a normal wooden shield, the only thing that is weird is the name of the shield. Instead of Bracelet of atys etc . it says "Invalid_preorder_item" or something like that. Aside from that, It works just like a shield for me.
