Just curious, does anybody know wether mebbe there's an intelligence controlling the Kitins/Mobs in events?
During the Fetch Artifact event a few weeks ago, as the Kami group were fighting from the south Nexux spawn toward the Artifact, I notice that not only were the waves of kittins attacking the main group were hideously powerful, but also very cunning. Watching the compass, I would see a group of yellow dot dive into frontal assault on the main group, and as we were fighting, two more kitins group spawned to the rear and side and flanked.
I have a feeling that there's an actual controller (the event manager mebbe) sitting there pushing some buttons, testing out different part of the group, seeing the group weakness, spawning and sending in armies to adjust to our group dynamic.
Then, laughing gleefully as the entire 50+ Kami supporters got wiped out to regroup and try again.
Wut do you guys think?

Just because your not paranoid, doesn't mean the whole world isn't out to get you.

They seem pretty scripted to me.. no doubt there is somebody controlling Mournblade etc... but I doubt respawns and kitin movements are being manipulated.

Never doubt the probable, only doubt the logical.
Specifically when it comes to events.
GM's do a great job organizing the events, players do a great job trying to participate in the events, and the npc's do a fabulous job of killing us at the right moment.

umm, just to add a small piece of information =)
gms CAN take control of mobs, usually boss mobs
and gms CAN control groups of enemies

I know the boss was spawning minions as well as self healing often. What I suspect happened based on what you said is that the mobs spawning at the end of your line was the first kitins you met headon there respawning as your forces moved forward.

Well, anything is possible and even likely, but in all fairness, you are assuming that player tactics are not predictable, which is a very big no-no.
You yourself explain that you took on a frontal assault and then got hit later by flanking actions. Sheesh. That's textbook, just about any script would attempt to do that. Medieval Total War, Shogun Total War, all of them will do that to you and they are single-player games. Warlords Battlecry 2 will definitely put up some good fights also.
I guess that explains some of the humor in the previous posts.
Yes you could be paranoid and no one is out to get you, or maybe everyone is a puppeteer still. The real problem is that from your own description the player tactics weren't very "intelligent" or "inspired", therefore standard scripted AI using flanking and the ability to respawn (does respawn even allow us to worry about calling ANY of this tactics??), could easily have been on automatic pilot saying ... let's pull a Cro-Magnon like they did at Neanderthal Ridge on you. I'm not sure what to make of AI when we have to question how "intelligent" is the artificial when taking on less than innovative "non-artificial" AI.
What I want to know is did any of the Kitin Lieutenants say "Oh no, not take Hill # 101 again .... give me a break."
Anyway, yes they can control the Kitins etc, groups or individually, and yes the AI could probably have done the same even without special scripting.
Per your description that's the impression. I wasn't there. Here's a beer toasting your eternal curiosity. I wish you well.

Aside from 'it is them, i tell you' kittins are very good in boolean mathematics
if A (&& b ) || C... then its them

You guys are confusing me with these logic craps... who needs logic?
Next time during the invasion, just watch the radar and the mob behavior. Imma telling you! If you pay attention closely, you could probably see them doing synchronize march, and holding hands, and singing, Stop! Brother What's that Sound!?!? Everybody Looks what's Going dowwwwwn ...
