API Keys
Ok, so unlike highly market-oriented games, such as EVE, Ryzom doesn't really need web services for us to continue to do things offline (although crafting recipes might qualify to some extent).
Nevertheless, I'm welcoming the appearance of API keys for each toon, as a sign of expansion to come. We currently have little idea how far you (yes, you, developers, you know who you are!) are going to take this idea, but in particular, the ability to view toon inventories offline would really help to keep track of what's in all those bags, mounts... and apartments. Where it really would become interesting would be if Guild Leaders obtained an API key for Guild Hall inventory; other than the obvious management facility (for the many who have a zillion alt halls, you silly packrats), it would also foster the creation of offline tools and may give rise to a more potent market system. Should homin population increase dramatically (which we all look forward to), such a tool may prove to be quite useful in the long run. *sips tea quietly* |

Re: API Keys
Talking about API, i don't know if the link has been given to the english community, but an API which gives the atysians date and hour was released a few weeks ago.
It was a frequent request in french community to have the ability to know which atysian day we are, and so VL gives us that link : http://atys.ryzom.com/api/time.php?s...ani&format=xml Thanks to that and as a request of some player, i've done an atys clock that can be downloaded right here : http://ryzom.wankin.net/atys_clock/ I hope that could be usefull for you too.

Re: API Keys
it should be in your list of program in windows in a folder called "Atys Clock (by Wankin"
in the software, if you click on "fichier/serveur" and then choose your shard, you will see the date of your server and all will be translated in english.

Re: API Keys
I seem to have a graphics issue with the program as you can see in the screen shot here:
http://fluffybunnies.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=499 On the "good news" side, the same shot shows that AtysTracker and AtysTime are not agreeing, at least today.

Re: API Keys
Thanks for reporting that bug, I think I know where it comes from (I've got 2 interface, one in english, one in french, the english one may have been damaged when i was adjusting the french one.). I should be able to correct it this week-end.
Edit (14/06/2009) : all should work correctly untill now.
