Ultimate solution for access violation

Hello guys, I've been having access violation error since i got to mainland for about 3 weeks now. After i installed the new omega drivers for my ATI mobility radeon 9800 card I never experienced any crashes or lag, the game play is smooth and enjoyable. For those of you who still experience this error here's a link:

http://www.omegadrivers.net/

It worked for at least 3 persons that i know of including myself and it improved the performance as well, enjoy the game

Re: Ultimate solution for access violation

Wonderful a post for myself They say when u start talking to urself its strange.. but when u r using forums for that... Anyways I noticed that if u let the game carry on loading data after u log in (for about 3mins) it does not crash afterwards. Looks like the crashes are due to complexity of the game (the code is not optimised well enough to load everything quickly) Looks like the only thing u can do is to get latest drivers (omegas are the best) and defragment your HD. And i'm not cancelling my account cause i'm addicted to Ryzom... I hate you Nevrax, you know i have work to do in real life

Re: Ultimate solution for access violation

My game used to crash a minimum of 5 times ever day.

The solution was simple enough :

Downloaded the latest Catalyst driver (v 4.10) from ati.com (I have the ASUS AX800 pro card).
Disabled sound in game.
Updated Win Xp with SP2 and every other possible fix there was.

The game has now been running trouble free for 3 days without a single crash.

Re: Ultimate solution for access violation

Too many people try to fix problems by trying various video drivers without updating their windows installation.
Windows is the core of your system and if windows isn't properly updated, the chances of your other drivers working decreases.

Make sure you have both service packs for WinXP as well as any other important updates you find on WindowsUpdate because hardware developers assumes that your Windows is up to date when designing their drivers.
Also, if you're using a cracked copy of WindowsXP you probably have your problem right there, don't expect warez to work as good as the real thing.

Also check your motherboard manufacturer's website for any updated motherboard drivers, theese can fix things like AGP issues (And onboard sound, networking etc. if you have it).
In my experience, AGP problems are mostly caused by motherboards rather than video cards.

Personally i never crash, i've only crashed once or twice due to known issues that have been fixed quickly by Nevrax with mini-patches. So i find it a bit surprising that so many people have crashing issues.

My setup:
Athlon XP 2800
ABit nForce2 motherboard (NF7-S)
Soundstorm Audio (nForce2 on-board sound)
HIS Excalibur Radeon 9800Pro
1GB of the cheapest DDR RAM i could find
Windows XP Home
