Splitting stacks of items.... possible? (NT)

Yeah, I think that's very annoying that you cannot split items up. This really needs to be addressed in the next patch if at all possible.

Are you talking about looting in groups? Could you be more specific so I can request it?

Basically, Cerest, say I have a stack of 80 shells. I want to get you to make me some armor with them. You are willing to work out a deal with me where if I provide you with 40 shells and x amount of money, you will make me the armor for half of what it would cost me in money had I not provided you the shells.

The problem is, I can't give you just 40 of my 80 shells. I can only give you the entire stack of 80. Now, if you need those shells for the armor you are making me, you can take the stack, make the armor, and give me the other 40 back. But that's a bit of a pain and isn't going to work in most situations. I need a way to take my stack of 80 shells and divide it into 2 stacks of 40.

Continuing with the shell example...

This also comes into play where, say, I loot a shell, and I want to give it to you, but I already had several shells in my inventory and this latest shell was added to that stack. In this situation, I can't give you just that one shell. All I can give you is the stack containing all the shells I own.

This is why I suggested stack splitting with group loot notification together since, to me, they go hand in hand. The notification isn't very useful if we can't divide the loot up properly.

Another example...Lets say a crafter wishes to purchase 40 of those shells. You have a stack of 80 shells. Basically, there is no way to sell the crafter 40 of your shells unless they are going to use them immediately to make a set of items that uses exactly 40 of those shells. Then, they can hand the 40 shells back to you.

Obviously, this is all solved by purchasing a packer and splitting stacks to the packer, but its a bit of a pain if you don't have one to split stacks.

Ah, got it. Yes this is a very good suggestion and I could see how this could be frustrating. I'll add it to the list

You can split a stack of items using a mektomb packer.
Sadly you cannot restack items you split at the moment.

With player merchants coming in the next patch, I expect this will be addressed then.
