MACROS!!!!

Fooling around with the interface I found a "new macro" option somewhere; please don't ask me where as I have no idea now and I’m at work writing this without the aid of the SoR GUI in front of me. Started fooling around with it right away and I’m pleased to say that as unsuccessful as I was in making the macro work properly, it did work and perform the actions that I requested of it. Timings were horribly off though.

Found that I can actually create macros with the options in my action bar. When I realized that I can create macros with a numerous amount of selectable options from the other menus as well I was a little overwhelmed and would prefer to just type up my macros for what I want, here in lies the problem.

I'm unaware of how to retrieve a list of available commands that can be used within the macro creation process within the gaming interface, if one exists. If one doesn't is there a "Commands" page somewhere on the official website or community board/s that will offer us (registered players) the info we all will need to create macros that work?

If not, why was the option placed in the official commercial version of the SoR GUI to create macros in the first place? An option that is very much functional and not just some dead in-game link.

Oh, and i did do a search under the "General" board for "macro/macros" and found nothing. If a thread on this was already created, sorry for starting another one.

You say "Macros" but do you really mean "Actions" the game's "actions" (fight, magic, forage, and crafting) are highly customizable, and is one of its strong points. Or are you referring to "Macros" that allow you to do silly stuff like say things while performing an action.... and other things similar to that?

There is an option in the game interface somewhere to build a "New Macro". An actual Macro, as in a string of code to perform multiple actions consecutively while all assigned to one newly (not customized action) created action button. I'll be home in about 2 hours and I'll post exactly how to go about getting to this option in the SoR GUI.

For those of you that are unsure that I’m aware of what I'm talking about, I’m referring to the type of macros that were optional for players to create in SWG.

e.g. /headshot3 /strafeshot2 /ui action toolbarSlot07 /stoppingshot /stoppingshot /stoppingshot /targetself /heal

For those of you that have played SWG you would know that you could create the above macro and actually use it if you were a Master Rifleman, had a pistol weapon in the 8th Toolbar Slot (yes the 8th slot for 07 as the 1st slot would be 00) and somewhat high on at least one of the Pistoleer branches, as well as having novice medic for the heal option.

If I’ve made myself unclear I ask that you be patient until I can get back home and locate the key combination or the menu option to access the "New Macro" selection.

For those of you that know exactly what I’m referring to, please provide any information as to the whereabouts of the actual commands that may be available for in-game macro creation if possible.

Shift+K is the option for Macros, click on "New Macro" and then it brings you to the interface where you can create them. I won't be playing around with it much right now but will eventually. Just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas on how to effectively create crafting or even harvesting macros in the game.

The macro system has a fixed set of commands that can be assigned to a key. Play around with it and you'll figure it out. It seems a little limiting, but you can combine commands in one macro. I'm just glad I was able to make an assist macro with this, because using the mouse to target and assist is a pain. ;-)
