Arrow [FAQ] Downloading Ryzom

There are currently only 2 official downloads hosted by Nevrax at this point

Self Extracting Archive

http://uk1.dl.nevrax.com/ryzom-installer_060928.exe

Your best bet is to use a download manager like FreshDownload or WGet as a lot of folks seem to have incomplete or stalled downloads. FireFox download manager seems to be able to handle it very well.

BitTorrent Installer

Direct link to the torrent
You will have to get a copy of BitTorrent client

The installer is also available from various sites like http://www.filefront.com and http://www.fileplanet.com
Just do a search for 'ryzom' when you get there

How to use WGet

Thanks to dam23 for these instructions on how to use WGet

1/ get the windows port of WGET (link above). WGET is an open source, spy/adware free download tool that lets one resume a partial download.

2/ extract the wget.exe file to your c: drive (recommend a folder like C:\wget)

3/ move your partially downloaded archive to your c: drive

4/ open the dos command line: Start Menu, Run, "cmd" (Those of you with ancient operating systems may have to type "command" instead. Or use the "MS-DOS" icon on your desktop)

5/ type: "cd c:\wget"

6/ type: "wget -c http://uk1.dl.nevrax.com/ryzom-installer_060928.exe"
the "-c" command line option tells wget to continue the download, which means you can resume your partially downloaded file.

7/ let it run till your download is done. you can then double click on your downloaded game archive in the C:\wget folder.

If your computer should crash while you're downloading, you can always run a "wget -c http://file...." to resume where your download was interrupted.
