Lightbulb The Map and Setting Markers

I've been doing fine setting all my map markers for where this or that resource can be found, but I really wish Nevrax would add a couple of features to the map...

1) Allow players to set the colour of the flags

2) Make the list of those markers on the compass right click window alphabetized and scrollable

I have so many markers now that I can't see them all, if there is a scroll feature to that list then it is so far off the screen that I can't see it, and the list is in the order in which I made the markers... it would be much more helpful if it were in alphabetical order!

Also, if I had the choice of a few colours I could set mats to one colour, npc's to another ... favourite mobs to hunt to yet another and so on and so fourth.

landmarks are stored in client side. check this thread:
http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15439

it has happened for me only once (i been playing around 6 months now i think), but it was enough - i backup it every time i make big changes to my landmark collection.

It may be worth noting that there is a limit how many map markers you can have. Was it 300?

Re: The Map and Setting Markers

One thing I struggle with setting markers is when in a team - you can't place the mark because of the other team members are selectable on the map - very annoying to ask the entire team to move 'far away' so you can place a marker.

Spaces - yes please!

It would be a very nice add - but potentially a lot of work to have a markers window that allowed you to review/edit/filter markers.

As I tend to follow the same naming convention when it comes to mats - Grade, Name, Time of day, Season - a flag type/colour/group would be a nice add.

Possible - flag direction - great for Harvesters or route planning.

Multiple lines of description - just a thought.

This could be a huge and very useful tool

Also I have noticed inconsistances with existing markers - some place have them and other don't.

Current marker system is very basic - flag + name + rough location

Right click on map in other place and without releasing button drag it to needed place.

I can't wait to try that!

When i started i didnt bother asking team members to move, so all my flags are about 1cm out in a random direction

Re: The Map and Setting Markers

Well, as I said, I have played many if not most of the MMO's around and the one things Horizon's did well was the map and map marking system.
You had choices of many different icons to use and not just one. Secondly, anything stored on my machine and not the company's servers should be limited in amount only by my personal preferences (or my machine's capabilites, hehehe); therefore, I am most certianly nearing that 300 limit by now!
