Ok, I am a bad person, I've been playing Evercrack II for the last ~8 months. BUT I've continued paying for my Ryzom account, 'cause I really liked the ideas I saw.

Now my question, where's the best place to find out about what's happened since last december? Thank you for your patience.

As far as storyline and events go, there have been a series of RP events and story content on the website lately that have tried to get a story going, but they don't effect anything in the world as of yet. They feel like more of an aside to me. I think the only event in that timeframe that's actually had an effect on the world is the opening of the new portal between the Zorai and Fyros lands.

In December you would have been waiting for Rites (missions with rewards) and Outposts. Well, we are all still waiting for that. So erm, I hope you haven't maxed yer EQ2 character yet.

I don't know of a summary. There has been some storyline progression over the last few months. The mysterious Guild of Elias teleported a bunch of guildleaders to a meeting to warn them that Jena was crossing space with a warfleet to wipe out the Kamis. All of the race's leaders had some diplomatic reaction. But Jena hasn't showed yet (possibly waiting on the construction of her outpost palace with divine plumbing). A Kitin raid occurred recently in the Lakelands and Zorai. Then recently spies have been caught that seem to come from a new invading race of nomadic Fyros. Cutthroats invaders, perhaps a scouting party, also attacked the Matis recently. I would look through the Saga posts that were started by Tidings.

There have been some more rites added with the Spring Clean as well as some bugs patched. Nevrax is working on more rites. TP tickets have bulk now.....at least I think they still do. Both english servers were merged several months back. I would look at the list of patch release notes to get a good idea of what and what hasn't been done.

Still not much word atm on when Outpost may make it in game. Although some testing on the ATS server went on, they were pulled and I don't know the reasoning behind this other than the fact they needed more work. I don't play/test on the ATS server so someone who does might want to verify that, but here is the latest response from Nevrax on Outposts in this Q&A response, about the sixth question down:

As the outposts will have to go through testing on the ATS once Nevrax has done what they wanted to or need to with them, and then said testing data looked out and any further bugs found and fixed, it is more than likely still a few months out on the outposts. This my opinion however and I could be completely wrong and we get outpost next month lol. There is also a discussion on proposed balancing and title changes:

There was one small kitin raid event whilest I was out due to having surgery in July. I heard it was ok, but nothing like the massive raid last January. If you left in December you probably missed it. I was low level, but it was still fun and exciting to watch as well as participate in. I made for really nice cannon fodder.

There has been more emphasis on the factions and one's fame in these areas with a pending....or depending on who you talk to it is already on.......war between the Kami and Karavan as riveit has alluded to. I think Jena got lost. Probably took a wrong turn around the Andromeda galaxy. I don't know much about this supposed invading race. I have yet to encounter anything in my travels across Atys. Probably just some Atysian hopped up after licking too many Najab skins and ran into Jyudas. =p Speaking of drinking you must getting **** faced at the Samsara Sponsered Pub night.


Gladiatorial games and contest are about a weekly occurence. I haven't been to one as I'm more of a lover than a fighter...................although some Fyrosian ladies may argue the "lover" part.

It is all a matter of perspective as if you are looking for raids and outposts and more developer side content it appears to be coming but no firm date offered. This is especially important to players that have been with Ryzom from the get go or for a long while as once you reach higher levels there is not as much to do unless you rp and like to help people out. There is always the goal of getting that 250 title. The rp and community though is where Ryzom shines in my opinion. I would say Ryzom has some of the better rp'ers out there and one of the best and most mature mmorpg communities.

Sorry to say I never met you in game there seedyman as I subbed in January although I did participate in OB1 so if you played any then I might have bumped into you.
