Poem : The Defence of Pyr
A little poem wot I writ......
Under the fierce baking hot sun, grains slip through the fingers of a hand a last smile on the dry lips dying the last homin of the heroic band songs will be sung to these great heroes who died lonely and lost in the sand They came pouring from the desert clambering out from their lairs dark as night we stood waiting shoulder to shoulder At the gates of Pyr we made ready out might their hatred made the air thick with malice but the homins of Atys stood there ready to fight With screams foretelling death in the air wave after wave crash forward at speed sword and spear held in palms cold and sweaty arcane power readied for healing at need streams of death flashed out of hands extend homins all readied to deny them their greed Death hovered over the homins of Atys hot red blood flowed freely on that day warriors, flesh of the enemy around them calling curses, forcing the Kittin to pay magic surging out in all the directions rending enemies, shells shattered in the ray In the chaos homins emerged as the victors all around the ground was cover with death many had fallen to the claws of the kittin the survivors struggled to catch their breath the enemy fled back into the desert their numbers still too many to guess many homins, valiant, injured survivors went across the dunes pursuing their foe striking fear at the rear of fleeing kittins bringing death and destruction and woe at the gates of the kittins dark kingdom stood a giant, jaws clashing, daring many to go That battle, it will live on in Legend remaining homins charged in without fear to kill that last remaining monster and protect all those they held dear one by one they fell to the creature falling, dying without spilling a tear Under the fierce baking hot sun, grains slip through the fingers of a hand a last smile on the dry lips dying the last homin of that heroic band songs will be sung to these great heroes who died lonely and lost in the sand Dhrum Samsara Last edited by thirkd : February 10th, 2006 at 11:06 AM. |
