Can someone please show me how to get rid of these messages on my screen?

see the purple wording that stretches from the left side of my screen to the right side, running right over the Chat Box and every other piece of UI and cluttering everything up?

is there ANY way, ANY way at all, to remove that text area (it shows all my system messages there, just about)and JUST have the message in my Chat Box?? because it is seriously bothering me.

Odd, that message never displays outside sysinfo for me.

It should only come up briefly and then fade away. No there's no way to turn it off. And not all sys info messages show up there, only some.

I don't think you can get rid of those messages, Morrne, but if you can increase your screen resolution then they will interfere less with your chat and so on. I have a similar annoyance with the messages that appear at the top of the screen when I cross location boundaries, right over the top of my compass.

If it was perhaps a higher lvl player I would have taken this for a very clever and subtle joke lol..

if your `puter can handle it, you could try running Ryzom at 1280x1024 resolution, everything would be alot less "cluttered" and that writing wouldn`t take up the whole width of the screen.

Morrne, if you notice, those messages are behind you. Press "V" to go into first person view and problem is solved

I'll give this a shot. I've always been kinda nervous about switching my screen resolution from its default (1024x768), for fear of screwing something up with my games because I didn't have a good enough computer. so i hardly ever touch my graphic settings. dunno if my GeForce 6600 can handle a higher resolution. we'll see.

GeForce 6600? o_O That's the same card I have. It handles 1280x1024 on highest settings easily.
