i used to play in fullscreen. but then i got a second monitor. have to play windowed or the aplication minimises every time you use an app in the second monitor. so now windowed is the way forward with hardware mouse.

however in OP battles i play full screen and turn down the resolution to improve performance a little

As for why? Purely because my machine copes better with alt tabing out of it in windowed then it does full screen in case I feel the need too.

Fullscreen, applications on second monitor just shunt sideways briefly till Ryzom is fired up then back to normal for me Sash. Alt tabbing no problem.

Same here alt/tab works fine with a second monitor. Strange it´s not working for you?
And I play Full Screen.

it does work.. but it minimises it when i swap to another application. just gets annoying so swapped to windowed. it fills 99% of screen anyhoo.

maybe it is cos you are running ryzom on a second core? *shrugs*

Windowed mode with hardware mouse... so I can play Ryzom, work on the Guild website, post on the forums, all at the same time.

Windowed mode with the window filling the whole screen, because alt-tabbing in and out is slightly faster that way.

Maybe if there was a hotkey for switching between windowed and fullscreen mode (is there?), then I'd play in fullscreen mode when I know I won't be alt-tabbing.

Play in both states, depends if I'm in need to alt-tab. But seems this game performs better for me in full-screen, even with alt-tabbing.

I used to play in fullscreen, then I got the 2nd monitor, and I play with a maxed window on the primary monitor.
