Thumbs up BeefTrek 2007!!

Greetings friends, and happy new year!!

After a short hiatus for the holidays, as well as unexpected sickess leave i am now able to return to Ryzom, and Beefy along with me. He has expressed great interest in trekking those new to Ryzom (on the Cho server) between all of the major cities once again, or to needed TP's/Rez points. If you are interested in being trekked, or trekking in general, please /tell Beefy in game, or send him an in game mail, or feel free to send me a PM here and i will relay the info on to Beefy.

Beefy is available most evenings from around 7-12 central time USA...which is around -6 GMT i believe, or something close to that anyhows .

He (Beefy) is able to solo pretty much anyone to and from Zora(jungle)-Fairhaven(water), Zora-Pyr(desert), and Pyr-Yrk(forest), or any other combonation of those. If you are wanting specifically Yrk-Fairhaven Beefy'll probably be needing to get a group together to make the trek, or take you the LOOOOoooong way around, as it gets pretty dicy at times for him taking low level players that route without a proper healer.

Required is that you have some sort of healing powers, and a stamina heal (even small ones are good enough), and any level of the Sprint/Inv. skills if you are below lvl 50. Also alot at least an hour for each city to city trek, but it may take anywhere up to 90-120 minutes if it doesn't go so well.

Thanks friends, and hope to see/hear from you ingame, happy new year all!

Re: BeefTrek 2007!!

Good for you and good for Cho! *cheer*

Trekking is fun, takes some time and is a good way to meet people and sow good feelings between guilds. I'm pretty new and have only been on a couple treks but they are usually a fun romp, give new folks a whirlwind tour of the world, and you always wind up with some folks coming with to help, folks from other guilds or smaller guilds, and it shows all involved that people can work together.

I'm glad to see that this spirit is common even across games, as in another unnamed game similar treks would be organized to get lots of folks safely around to gather wyve...err, transport points.

I imagine Cho it is even more helpful due to what I've heard of a lower population level, though with the reopening of subscriptions I hope Cho is getting some more homins!

Re: BeefTrek 2007!!

Yea, i also agree with pretty much everything you've said also friend. Cho is seeming more lively since i've been back...many new faces, not sure if is an INCREASE in pop. or not...but i've been seeing far more people in fairhaven and Yrk. anyhow then before the reopenings.

For me trekking is fun, and one of my favorite things to do as an "endgame" type activity, something that many high lvl players also often feel Ryzom is lacking in not having many of once you've grinded to 250 a few times already. Its a different experience with each group, sometimes it goes wonderfully, other times, not so much lol, but its a good way to meet new faces, as well as keep them in game longer.

Frustration levels can run pretty high when your stuck in the jungle or forest and cant get to where the people are, its way different than what you see on the Island where everyone is forced into 1 area, then split into 4 once they hit ML. I think many people probably leave if one area is all they ever get to see after a week or so, which is a pretty sad thing since theres plenty more to see in Ryzom, just without help you dont get access to it for a good long while without trekking and such.

Would love to see more of the planet, I am at the moment "stuck" at Fairhaven and would love to go on a trek.
I am living in Thailand but could be flexible at the weekends with time. I think +7 GMT
My ingame name is Trajan

I'd say any long potentialy dangerious journey could be called a 'trek'. Mostly it is used when talking about traveling from one of the capital cities to another.

Re: BeefTrek 2007!!

Is anyone organizing treks on the Arispotle server?

I have 4 mainland chars and 1 island char.

3 of my mainland chars are level 30ish n00bz still living in the mainland start towns for their races:

Altaira - Tryker
Morbius - Fyros
Otho - Zorai

I also have 2 other chars of more reasonable skills, one living in the Matis start city Yrkanis, the other an island Matis char soon to relocate to Yrkanis:

Amphiaraus - Matis (Yrkanis), level 84 melee, magic 30 off 25 def
Amalia - Matis (Silan island, soon to relocate to Yrkanis), level 40 melee, magic 31 off 26 def

Let me know if any of my chars can join a trek on the Arispotle server.

Is there such a thing as a trek to the Prime Roots -- unless escorted by a high end char I assume us n00bz would not last long there.

Finally - is there a Goo Zone somewhere on the mainland?

Thanks,
Amphiaraus
