Any new content planned?

I know, most of you will consider this thread premature, seeing as how the game has just come back online, but I am having serious doubts about my tenure here if all there is in my future is digging, crafting and grinding levels. (lets put the op battles aside for the time being) When Ryzom went away this last time it was pretty hard to take, but now that its back I find my passion for the game has gone away as well. I'll stick around IF the devs assure us that they have plans for the future development of Ryzom, but if they let it's development lanquish then I'll be moving on. So how about it new/old dev team? What are the plans for Ryzom's future and when can we expect to see any of it happen?

Re: Any new content planned?

I am also very interested to know if any future development is planned and if so, in what timeframe. Would make my 'to resub or not to resub' decision much easier.

Re: Any new content planned?

For me personally i'm not that bothered about new content that much this time around. You could call me a fanboy, but in the case of Ryzom and for Ryzom only, then yes I am and proudly so. Ryzom has dived twice now and has since opening been the underdog up against bigger companys mmo's and their bigger budgets, yet they still outstripped them in terms of graphics and almost unlimited gameplay,- We'll see if you max everything Final -and even now the graphics are still a joy to see. To have it back again is something I really didn't think would ever happen. I intend to grind and play to the goals i've set myself and when they're done...well we'll see then. I'm taking Ryzom as it is for now and am only happy that it's back again with our old chars intact.

I don't think this thread is premature for some, after all the only thing better than Ryzom would be Ryzom with new content

Re: Any new content planned?

New content is something that can take months to design and program for the devs but only days, if not hours for some players to go through, and a month/week after release, it's already old content...

Just wait and see.

Eh, my mommy always told me patience was a virtue.

But, I love exactly what Kodel said.

Re: Any new content planned?

We have been a LONG time without improvements, fixes or new content through previous bumps in ownership. I also find this (Ryzom) nothing more than a social community again, which is both great and not so good...

No need to subscribe to a fancy chat program though, we have seen everything here before and want to make new history again. We waited months after the last handover to "give them a chance", at some point it's expected that someone bought the game to improve it...

Buying the subscription base and just plugging in the servers has been done before...

Re: Any new content planned?

I think they've done an outstanding job of getting things up and running in a very short time. (Maybe it doesn't feel short from a user perspective, but hellishly short from a developer's perspective)

I'd like to hear plans and visions for the future as well. I won't be leaving, though, unless they drag me out kicking and screaming like the last time...

Re: Any new content planned?

Again I´d like to remind those that think "new content" must by now be available (apart from the supposedly almost ready Kitin Nest), that the game lay dormant for quite some time in its history. Nobody wrote any code for it in that times. So, new contend (code) would not magically appear from out of nowhere. It has to be written, which takes time.

I´ve settled in to wait, those who can´t and expect wonders, well ... good luck.

I´ll gladly join the cheers of joy if something comes up within a few weeks, and I´ll willingly join the chorus of hate if nothing happens in the next, say half a year.

Acridiel

Edit: And I´d really appreciate some kind of new "road map", yes on that we agree.
