Please consider bringing back the global channel
I can't speak for all lands since I havent been to fyros or matis since beta, but I can speak for what I've seen in zorai and tryker lands
.Currently the region channels are fine if you are doing the cat herding thing and moving 2 or more groups of folks through an area such as a tryker<>zorai trip so folks can get spawns/tp tickets. But in general, the game is pretty much without conversation when it comes to anything other than guild chat. Region chat is there, but since it only covers the small part of the continent that you are in, you generally don't see much happening there. People are left with a feeling of an empty world. Early on in beta we had a global channel that covered the entire continent... there was quite a bit of chatting, group making, newbie question answering, and general socialization things going on over it... Certainly more than the current region channels get. Things like "any <insert class> want to help a group of <insert number> kill <insert thing>", didn't require a harvester to be foraging in the same part of the zone where it was asked in. |

Re: Please consider bringing back the global channel
With a lot of the ridiculous abuses of region chat that go on, I'd just end up having to mute a global channel.
Besides, for most players the other civilizations are impossibly remote. |

Re: Please consider bringing back the global channel
I think he may be refering to just a continental channel, so people in say Libertay lake could say in that channel they are looking for group, and get a reply from someone in dew drops/resting waters/lagoon of loria. Not a tryker in Liberty lake being heard all the way over in Pyr or Yrkanis.

Reading-comprehension
He is talking about a channel for 1 continent (region only covers one part of each continent), not about 1 for the whole game. |

You're one to talk about reading comprehension for most of your posts Shrike? Try looking up global in a dictionary. /me shrugs
Personally I hope that even region chat can be done away with in patch 2 for the new topic oriented channels they're proposing. Region chats already have too much team chat, and far worse OOC chat. As it is I find the region seperation good in that it keeps a lot of the more inane OOC chat out of other regions. Again, with topical channels it would be a lot better. |

Or just some way to flag/find groups or other players LFG. It's a PITA to say "74 Melee looking for a group..." every half hour. I feel like a broken record. |
