As the denizens of Atys are obviously not ready for such a thing, the pact has been withdrawn.

So you are saying that those who don't go along with what you want, will be treated as your enemy? I really suggest you think that over as you are bordering on starting one hell of a war on Atys between the Homins.

And I still want to know why my idea of a united nations type of organization was laughed at, yet this is somehow different.

Actually, those people treated as enemies, by the wording of this pact, would only be the ones who have ratified the pact, then went contrary to it. Those who never signed it in the first place would be free to do as they choose and be able to take part in whatever defensive measures are taking place when they personally choose to.

How will those who don't ratify the pact be viewed?

How will those who don't ratify the pact be viewed?

That will be based upon their own actions and those who view them. Those who wish the benifits granted by the pact (help when it is needed, regular caravans between the lands) are bound by the restrictions presented. Those who do not, are not, however, if taking direct action against those who are defending agaisnt an incursion will likely be seen as quite hostile.

So basically what is being said here is that either you go along with this pact and do what everyone wants, or you will be viewed as the enemy. Even if you don't take a vote?

Again I STRONGLY advise you to think about what you are saying. Because as this pact stands it is saying that you either agree to run and help fight an invasion when it happens, or you are the enemy and will be attacked and or ignored on site. And that is bordering on a declaration of war among the homins.

1) How do you account for the players and guilds who do not visit the boards?
2) Where did this pact come from and the process in which it is approved? Who decided upon the benefits and the actions to be taken against those who do not agree with it for whatever reason?
3) Do you really think it's in the best interest of Atys and the homins to present such a pact with such harsh concequences? There is the possiblity that some will help to fight the Kitin, but will not do so under conditions where they are being forced to do so.

Sounds like crap to me. This type of team work and homin helping homin attitude is already in place without having some sort of official pact in an attempt to force action. Basically this sounds like an attempt to force large groups of people to help a few that are widely not liked both in game and on these forums. We all know who they are, I won't name names.

Just this weekend members of CP, Melinoe, OOC, and others led by Zzei the loan ranger made the trek from Zorai -> Tryker -> Matis -> Fyros. I think someone said the whole ordeal took 14 hours. They didn't need a Pact or any other BS to do this. We all have differences of opinion but don't have trouble letting it go when we have a common goal. Except for these few that is.

Let it go. Stop trying to force people. Get along.

You over estimate your knowledge of who is liked and who is not. You also make the assumption that certain groups are well liked, when in fact it's widely known that certain groups are indeed not like by many, many players. We all know who those groups are, I won't mention names.

And you and I were getting along so nicely Raynes!

Either way, it appears we agree on this issue more or less, which is somewhat scary.

I think the only thing clear to anyone here is that you and I don't like each other. But if your city was being invaded (nevermind that it's my city too) I'd be there to defend it as well. :)

LOL! I'm not saying I won't be there if needed (I'm still looking at the entire situation). I am just completly against being told that people have to be there. Free will is a wonderful thing, and once we get rid of peoples ability to choose on their own, then you take away from people desire to be a part of things. And if people don't have their heart into the matter then they won't succeed. That really the reason I am against this pact.

If making a pact will help you get there, then by all means have at it. I will continue to do what I can to help all of Atys, as I have always done, as best I can, irregardless of any pact made. That is all I can do, and all I will say on this matter.

LOL that does bring up an interesting question though. Lets say the Kitin attack the Groove of Umbra at the entrance of the roots. Since this pact has everyone agreeing to run to the place where the invasion happens, everyone does just that. Well at the same time the Kitin attack Zora. What then? These things need to be thought through before any pact is made.

... Who released our doctrine into the open?

--------

In the future CP will continue our practice of actively pursuing the invasion force. Our strike abilities have been built for an offensive role in an invasion, not for a classical defence model. This pattern will exist regardless of who is suffering invasion for one simplte reason: The pursuit and destruction of the enemy's leadership structure is our duty in an invasion.

If others choose to follow us, we are happy to be the tip of the spear. If they do not, it is no skin off our backs.

On another note, we will always answer the call of our allies among the Tryker, in addition to Infinity, LPD, and the EoA. We will do whatever we can to help friendly player factions suceed. Alliances will be the start of a system of global defence. Once enough of us trust each other, we might just be able to make some real progress.

Exactly what pact are we talking about here?

raynes, i think you're reading it wrong.

my understanding of what was said is this.

we're making a pact. join us if you want. if you don't want to, that's fine. just don't mess with us and you'll be ok.

now if they mean it the way you're reading it, i'll help you kill them all. :P

Please, people debating this, check out my poll, it's labeled "Unity"...I'm thinking about starting a guild sort of based on this, and I need SOME positive feed back cause most of what i'm getting is "it won't work!"
