Fort-le-phare.

J’avais perdu espoir de réécrire un mot dans ce journal.
Où commencer? La fatigue me fait perdre la notion du temps, et la notion des choses qui nous entourent. Je vais essayer de reprendre où je m’étais arrêtée. Azazor est toujours plongé dans ses pensées.

La lumière. Nous avons aperçu cette lueur, au loin, dans l’obscurité profonde. D’abord très diffuse, comme un reflet sur le ciel ou la canopé. Nous l’avons suivie, oubliant de chercher d’autres repères.
L’obscurité. Comparé à ce trou, le couloir brulé est une promenade de santé, les kitins en moins. La brume quasi permanente qui règne ici rend l’orientation sur les astres quasiment impossible. Après avoir vu cette lueur, nous avons marché encore plusieurs jours, ainsi qu’une partie de la nuit quand la brume se dissipait, car la journée nous perdions ce repère précieux. Je ne saurais dire combien de jours.

Azazor n'a rien dit. Il me regardait avec ses yeux de plus en plus fous, et marchait. J'ai discrètement gardé ma hache à portée de main, et je n’ai dormi que d’un oeil. Il avançait bien, le bougre, mais son esprit semblait ailleurs. Sans doute le manque de nourriture. Mais la lumière au loin a fait renaître l’espoir en nous, même en lui. Même s'il n'a rien dit.

Alors que la lueur est devenue plus concrète, nous sommes soudainement arrivés en bas d'une falaise. Nous avons escaladé, le chemin était relativement aménagé, plus facile que j’avais pu prévoir. Notre pauvre mektoub a même réussi à nous suivre, je ne saurais expliquer comment. Plus tard, lorsqu’il a compris que nous étions arrivés, il s’est écroulé. Il a du sentir notre soulagement. J’espère qu’il s’en remettra. Une bête comme ça, c’est irremplaçable. Au point où on en est, s'il claquait, ça me ferait quelque chose de le bouffer. Un pincement au coeur. Non, je ne pourrais pas.

Et donc, nous sommes arrivés. Comment décrire l'endroit? Au fur et à mesure que nous nous approchions, je me suis rendue compte que le village n'était pas juste au bord de la falaise, comme je l'avais imaginé. La lueur, encore haute au dessus de nos têtes, semblait toujours sortir de la canopée. Nous avons continué, et sommes arrivés à ce que je pourrais appeler le village lui-même. Il est comme encerclé dans une énorme souche, mais sans aucune racine. Comme un arbre gigantesque. La lumière rayonne étrangement dedans. Il doit s'agir d'une magie puissante que je n'avais jamais vue auparavant.

Puis un tryker est venu vers nous, non armé, il semblait néanmoins sur ses gardes. Relativement massif, il était habillé d'un genre d'armure que je n'avais jamais vue auparavant.
"Nous venons des nouvelles terres", j’ai dit, sans réfléchir. Azazor est resté silencieux, derrière moi.
Le tryker a levé un sourcil, étonné : "Des nouvelles terres?"
Son accent était différent de ce que j'avais pu entendre jusque là. Il a fait signe à deux homins que je n’avais pas vus. Ces derniers sont sortis de l’ombre et se sont approchés de nous, les armes à la main, sans pour autant nous menacer.
"Maraudeurs?" a dit l’un d’eux, un Zoraï au masque buriné.
J’ai répété : "Nouvelles terres. Pas maraudeurs."
J'ai senti qu'ils ne me croyaient pas, mais ce qui me restait de discernement a pris le dessus.
"Nous avons du prendre un détour", j’ai fait. "Et nous sommes revenus ici"
Le Zoraï s’est approché de notre mektoub, l’a observé un moment, puis a reposé les yeux sur nous.
"ça m’a tout l’air" il a dit, avant de faire un signe de tête au tryker.
Azazor s'est alors approché de l'un des gardes et l'a regardé avec des yeux à moitié révulsés.
"les Yeux... la Bête... ils peuvent rentrer ici ?"

Je ne peux pas savoir quelle tronche atterrée j'ai dû faire en entendant la voix d'Azazor, lui qui n'avait pas dit un seul mot depuis des jours, ou des semaines... Les homins ont rigolé un coup, et se sont adoucis.

Le tryker s’est finalement approché et a repris la parole : "Nous avons peu de voyageurs. En général ceux qui arrivent d’où vous venez ont l’air un peu plus… enfin... Vous m'avez l'air trop armés pour de simples voyageurs, et trop inoffensifs pour des maraudeurs." Il a sourit.
J’ai hoché la tête, ne sachant quoi faire d’autre. Puis il a continué en regardant Azazor qui restait planté là :
"Lui, c’est le bras armé ? Ce qu’il reste de vos troupes? Il y a d’autres homins?"
J'ai secoué la tête, pour lui signifier que nous n’étions en effet que deux. D'un ton presque facétieux, à moins que ce ne soit cet accent étrange, Il a dit quelque chose du genre :
"Quoi, un armadaï a mangé votre cristal ?"
Voyant que notre réaction n'était qu'un regard confus, il ajouta :
"Bon. Alors vous êtes encore en vie, on va dire que c’est de la chance. Vous restez la nuit et rentrez chez maman?"

Ils nous ont observés encore un moment, puis le zoraï et son comparse se sont éloignés. J'ai cru les entendre rire, l'un deux disant quelque chose du genre : "définitivement pas des maraudeurs, ils se seraient déjà énervés. Des mous des nouvelles terres… ça nous changera"
Ils ont rit de nous, et peu importe. Un rire. Les derniers jours, j'aurais donné mon âme pour un rire.

Le tryker nous a fait signe de le suivre. Nous avons passé des murs épais. Il me semble qu'Azazor a redemandé quelque chose à propos des yeux, de la bête. Le tryker a expliqué que le village était un endroit sûr. J'essayais de concentrer toute mon attention à observer ce qui nous entourait, malgré la fatigue. Il nous a mené vers une petite pièce, pas loin de l'entrée. Je ne peux décrire en quoi les murs sont fabriqués. Un coté de cette chambre ressemble à un gigantesque morceau d'écorce, de l'autre coté le mur semble être un enchevêtrement de lianes et de boue séchée. Quelques lits sont installés. Des lits !! J'ai failli pleurer quand j'ai réalisé que je n'avais pas dormi dans un véritable lit depuis presque une année déjà.

Puis on nous a apporté de la nourriture et de l’eau. Un autre a amené de quoi faire boire notre mektoub, puis l'a emmené, sans doute vers une étable. Il est aussi mal en point que nous, j'espère qu'il passera la nuit. J'ai amené tous nos sacs, dont celui du mektoub, dans ce qui nous servira de dortoir. Azazor a avalé ce qu’on lui a servi, puis s'est allongé, sans me dire un mot. Il s'est sans doute vite endormi.
Les homins ne nous ont pas beaucoup plus parlé. Ils nous observent, un peu étrangement, mais sans animosité. L'endroit est calme, silencieux, si l'on excepte le sifflement du vent qui nous apporte les réminiscences de lointains et étranges hurlements.
Lorsque le tryker est revenu, je lui ai fait comprendre que je voulais parler. Il nous a regardés, Azazor alongé et moi. Puis il nous a dit de nous reposer, avec un je ne sais quoi de bienveillance dans la voix. Nous parlerons demain. Je lui ai dit nos noms, et il nous a dit le sien : Kickan. Mac'opin Kickan..

Maintenant, j’ai juste la force de terminer l'écriture de ces lignes. Je lui demanderai la date demain. Je tombe de sommeil et pour la première fois depuis des semaines, je sais que je réussirai à dormir.

Il y a deux jours, alors qu'elle « maraudait » du coté de la Ruelle des Marchands,
elle s'est laissée surprendre par une patrouille de kiros enragés…
Elle a juste eu le temps de se glisser dans une anfractuosité qui l'a menée dans ce « trou » obscur.
Les cliquetis et les grattements venus de la surface l'ont dissuadée d'aller voir ce qui se passait.
Mais, maintenant, le silence est pesant et la soif tenace.
Elle se décide à remonter.

Alors qu'elle s'apprête à sortir de son « terrier », le vent lui amène une odeur acide, qui l'alerte.
Elle essaye d'humidifier sa bouche avec sa salive et observe les alentours, tendant tous ses sens.
Dans la maigre lumière de la lune Rousse, elle devine une ombre immense,
presque imperceptible, qui bouge à peine.

Une de ces créatures démoniaques est en faction.


    « Cette saleté est seule, ba froid de ba andoy l'engourdit al la ralentit. C'est le moment ou jamais.
    Y suis sur ba territoire de Galor, Al detem bande patrouille dans bai parages. Y dois être attentive. »


Pom s'extirpe doucement. Sans bruit, elle commence à avancer dans l'ombre d'un mur lézardé.
Soudain la jeune homine se fige :

    « La Mère est avec Y ! det a entendu quelque choses à l'opposé…
    Laissons-le s'éloigner. »


Au bout de quelques interminables instants, l'effroyable créature est hors de vue et la Trykette se remet en route.
Elle se hâte vers ce refuge où elle sait pouvoir trouver eau, nourriture et une relative sécurité.
Malheureusement son dénuement lui fait oublier les plus élémentaires précautions.
Elle ne perçoit pas l'ombre furtive qui la suit à distance. [...]

This idea could be applicable to secondary cities, but poses a problem in the capitals. This is where new players arrive after finishing Silan. Arriving in a city in the middle of an invasion is really boring. If the city stay inaccessible for several days afterwards, it will be a good way to lose new players. Remember those long moments of painstakingly getting to level 100, before you can make any trek, and where the capital is your only rez! If you don't have access to that anymore, what's left?

The workaround would be to do this kind of thing on the secondary cities only. That would give them interest without penalizing the arrivals. Including blocking GHs: if some players don't like it, then their GH can be in the capital, where it will never be blocked.



I agree that this is a MUCH BETTER IDEA
we would still get the 'City Invasion' events, and be able to participate in reconstruction efforts, without overly inconveniencing new players

- ça rigole pas chez eux. Le roi a chassé deux rangers qui n’avaient rien à faire ici. Il s’agit de Lylanea, une ancienne noble d’après l’historien du royaume Salazar, et de Kalaoden, un ami de longue date du royaume d’après Nilstilar. Tous deux sont de la guilde The Free Soul.

- La karavan n’a plus d’avant-poste d’après Tapco (Alkiane).

- J’ai pu obtenir d’être formée par la maison Ore Altae, qui forme des serviteurs d’excellences (d’après eux). Membres actuels repérés : Margaritta et Milae, les dames en charge de la formation, Valdini qui semble être celui qui fait leur publicité. Ça pue les esclavagistes à plein nez, mais on verra bien. Si ça me permet d’être introduit dans la haute société matis...

- Aylia, prétendante à la main d’Aniro, a été enlevée par des proches de Chiabre di Ciosi, également prétendante. L’un de ces proches fait partie de la « Sève Vraie ». Il s’agit de Pebre di Ciosi, un cousin de Chiabre. Aylia a fini par s’échapper de la hutte où elle a été retenue pendant des semaines. Elle peut donc encore postuler.

Et ça n’a rien à voir avec cette réunion, mais j’ai pu croiser et discuter avec un certain Homere, des Alkiane. J’ai cru comprendre qu’il avait fait des choses pas très nettes avant. Je le soupçonne d’être un ancien maraudeur. Peut-être un moyen de jeter l’opprobre sur Alkiane avec ça ? Faut que je le tanne de m’en dire plus à l’occasion.

Digging in the roots can be tedious. Getting to a particular spot lengthy and dangerous. Staying there, too. You don't know wether you still find material there anyway or whether you will be attacked (on the multispots).Add to that an uncertainty that you might not even have a chance to find the interesting material simply because the weather will not appear, will make it even harder and not add to the game.

As-is with predictable weather you can plan your digging. You can get ready in time, make your path and get digging once the correct weather appears. It still can be quite a considerable time investment.

The predictable weather is good incentive to get a guild digging-party going also for people who are not digging-freaks when the right weather for the right materials is ahead. Removing that incentive will make this chance disappear or much less likely.

Making that time investment a gamble would only make it possibly frustrating to have wasted hours without a chance for success.

With /appzone 2832 (Weather Forecast 2.0) you now have it available (again) ingame. Arguably this could be integrated better in the game from a RP perspective (but I much prefer to have it also available in the browser)]]>

Je commence un journal. Je crois que c’est le moment d’en commencer un. Il se passe beaucoup de choses d’un coup, et quelque chose me dit que ce n’est que le début…
Pour des raisons évidentes, les deux jours suivants ont été écrits après les évènements. Vous comprendrez pourquoi ! Enfin, je dis vous, mais je suis la seule à lire ce journal, hihi !


Dua, Medis 14 (15/05/2022)



Nikuya a débarquée au bar, elle n’avait pas l’air bien du tout. Elle voulait parler à Haokan, mais il n’était pas là, et comme je ne savais pas comment faire pour l’aider, j’ai décidé d’aller le chercher ! Sous les protestations de Niku, j’ai déchiré un pacte et j’ai fouillé tout Zora en criant son nom, mais pasmoyen de le trouver… Ne perdant pas espoir, je me suis rendu à Min-Cho et me suis soudain rappelée du camp des Antekamis, qui se trouvait juste à côté… Haokan et Nikuya ont souvent affaire à Giasuki, cheffe des Antekamis, et je me suis dis qu’ils étaient peut-être encore en train de se battre ! Byrh à la main, j’ai rejoins le camp ennemi tout en criant le nom du Zorai. Malheureusement, la tribu m’a entendue et m’a attaquée ! J’ai vite fini la tête dans la sciure, et les Kamis m’ont ramenées à Fairhaven. Mais… j’étais persuadée d’avoir aperçue deux silhouettes au loin... Il fallait que j’y retourne. J’ai fais un détour au bar pour voir s’il y avait Hao, mais aussi pour me faire soigner, parce que j’avais mal partout ! Le groupe au bar n’avaient pas l’air de comprendre pourquoi je l’ai cherché chez les Antekamis, mais bon, je n’avais pas de temps à perdre et je suis directement allée à Min-Cho. Je devais aider Niku, pas question de la laisser comme ça !

Puis... Je me suis fais à nouveau avoir par les Antekamis. Seulement, cette fois, Giasuki était dans le coin, est, alertée par mes cris appelant Haokan, m’a capturée. Elle était très en colère, car elle venait de se battre contre Hao et Nikuya, et que à cause de ça elle a perdu son enfant. Lylanea m’a trouvée par hasard ! Je lui ai demandé de l’aide, mais Giasuki l’a attaquée et elle a fini dans la sciure… Avec un peu de chance, elle allait revenir à temps avec des renforts ! Mais Giasuki avait une autre idée en tête : me faire traverser la « ceinture pourpre »… Elle me dit que si je réussi, je rencontrerais Gami. Giasuki me dit que Gami, c’est « la Pourpre, la Grande Chasseresse. », ou bien la Goo, comme nous, on l’appelle. J’ai fortement protesté, mais elle m’a embarquée de force sur son épaule, et je n’ai rien pu faire ! L’Antekami m’expliqua les règles : je devais courir en ligne droite… et espérer survivre. Ils appellent ça le baptême pourpre. Une Fyros, Tigrousse, allait le passer en même temps que moi. Enfin elle, s’était volontaire… ! Je ne voulais pas y aller, mais Giasuki m’a menacée de me donner un baiser pourpre, un truc avec beaucoup moins de chance de survie… Les secours n’arrivant pas, je n’ai pas eu le choix. J’ai pris mon courage à deux mains et ai compté jusqu’à trois avant de tracer ma route à travers la Goo.

J’ai survécu. D’après Giasuki, Gami m’a épargnée. Mais...pourquoi ? Elle m’a également fait remarqué, après que j’ai demandé à vite sortir de cet endroit contaminé, que la Goo ne m’attaquait plus. Puis… elle m’a demandé quelque chose d’étrange. Si j’avais de la famille chez les Chlorogoo ! Quel idée ! Mais… Je ne connais pas mes parents. Ce n’est pas impossible… En tout cas, Giasuki avait l’air très sûre d’elle.
J’ai repensé à mon enquête sur les kamis, et je me suis dis que c’était l’occasion de demander l’avis d’un Antekami pour voir leur points de vue… Pourquoi ils n’aiment pas les Kamis, eux qui sont si choupis ? Giasuki m’a répondu qu’ils privent son peuple de leur liberté et leur volent leur visages. Elle m’a expliqué que la théocratie, ça veut dire que c’est la religion qui impose sa volonté… Et aussi que les Kamis ont choisit de prendre une forme toute choupis pour nous tromper… ! Je n’avais jamais pensé à ça… ! En plus, j’ai fais remarqué que malgré mes recherches, je ne trouvais pas vraiment d’informations sur les Kamis, à part les commandements. Et ça, c’est louche ! J’étais de plus en plus sceptique : il faudra que je me renseigne encore plus… !

L’Antekami me remit de force sur son épaule, et me dit qu’on allait rendre hommage à l’Esprit du Bosquet de l’Ombre. Une fois arrivées, je découvre une Zorai assise dans la Goo. Giasuki l’a appelé Gami… Mais Gami, c’était pas censé être de la Goo ? Là, c’était une Zorai… ? Je n’ai pas compris, mais bon… J’étais surtout curieuse de savoir ce qu’il allait se passer. Je me posais plein de questions. J’ai été encore plus surprise quand Giasuki a dit à « Gami » que je ressemblais à Reitzak ! Elle pense que Reitzak est de ma famille ? Pourquoi ? A part que c’est une Tryker… Je ne vois pas le rapport avec moi ! « Gami » a dit que j’avais quelque chose. Comment ça quelque chose ? J’avais bien de la Byrh dans mon sac, mais c’est tout… ! Puis, elle conseilla à la Cheffe des Antekamis de m’emmener voir les Chlorogoo pour en savoir plus. Giasuki a négocié notre protection, à Tigrousse et moi dans le sanctuaire Pourpre, car il y a des Homins à ma recherche. Mais pourquoi ? Personne ne va m’attaquer, ce sont mes amis ! Ils sont gentils ! Enfin bon, pas sûre qu’il y ait de logique.
Oh, et là, il s’est passé un truc trop bien ! On m’a fait goûter un Gookie ! Au début, je ne voulais pas y toucher, mais comme j’avais les pieds dans la Goo sans effets secondaire et que les autres Antekamis allaient très bien après en avoir mangé… Et puis, Giasuki a dit que ça allait me faire penser par moi-même...! J’y ai goûté, puis l’ai dévoré ! C’était tellement bon ! Je me sentais tellement bien ! Je ne m’étais jamais sentie aussi bien de toute ma vie ! J’aurai pu faire le tour d’Atys en courant ! Je me suis mise à entendre des voix bizarres qui disaient des trucs incompréhensibles, c’était trop drôle hihi ! Les Gookies, c’est trop la vie !
Et là, Gia m’a libérée ! En fait, elle est gentille Gia ! Elle a dit que la prochaine fois que je viendrais, on ira chercher des réponses chez les Chlorogoo ! J’ai hâte !
Pour fêter ça, j’ai sorti une Byrh, puis en aient offert une GRATUITEMENT pour chacun mes trois nouveaux amis ! Youhouuuu !

Après, je leur aient dit lorandoy, et j’ai foncé au bar !

At the same time, the CSRs already have a lot of work to do and the mediation actions are always long and complex. For these actions to be effective, people needs to be trained in conflict management (with effective tools) and I am not sure that Winchgate want to pay this for its volunteer employees. It is even more complex because we are in a very marked intercultural context, where what may be normal in some people's culture is considered unacceptable in others. Even on language: if Deepl helps to understand each other, it also sometimes leads to misunderstandings.

I'm thinking in particular of the classic case of thefts in GHs (which, in my opinion, is one of the things at the origin of this discussion and a bigger problem than changing the name). Thefts in GHs are regular (one or two stories per year?), it multiplies tensions between groups of players. If we stay on the surface of things, here is what is perceived:
- For group A: they welcomed and trusted group B. After a while, some dissensions appeared, then group B left by stealing things in the GH, changing faction sometimes, and there were a lot of insults.
- For group B: they joined group A, to whom they brought among other things MP (by digging, hunting, etc). After a while, some dissensions appeared, they decided to leave and keeping what they felt they brought, they changed faction because it became too tense, and there were a lot of insults.
- For the CSRs: players don't get along anymore, they can't talk to each other anymore, insults are flying beyond what is tolerable and CSR need to act for bring peace. Who stole from whom? It's impossible to determine, given the arguments put forward. Some people (in group A or B) crystallize the attacks and ask for renames in the hope of escaping the popular vindictiveness/consequences of their actions (take the option you prefer). Rename are granted in the hope that the expressions of anger will subside. From an outsider's perspective, it is impossible to tell who is right from A or B. It is obvious that the conflict MUST end, no matter what.

This is almost always the case.

If we remain in a simplistic vision, only one of the 3 groups is "right"... and both A AND B will be dissatisfied.

If we enter into a logic of conflict resolution, we will start from the hypothesis that everyone is right and wrong at the same time, and we will go back and forth between all the actors involved in order to find a resolution that satisfies the maximum number of people. We will also work to create as much empathy as possible between the groups in conflict. By empathy, I mean: understanding the deep reasons that motivate the other (and which will be more complex than what I have outlined here), understanding one's own reasons, seeing how our actions have hurt the other and vice versa, exposing and explaining one's limits, hearing and understanding the limits of the other. It is more than likely that a mediation action, in this case, will end up happening not at the moment of the "theft", but very much upstream, at the moment when the groups have come together (even before the dissensions). This will bring to light the misunderstandings and unmet expectations that arose at that time. From there, everyone will be able to recognize their responsibilities and propose something that seems "right".

This is the simple version. In practice, even when everyone is willing and the problem is really "easy", a good mediation action requires hours, even days of work. It takes a lot of time to get one of the people involved to talk about what's going on from his or her point of view, then multiply that by the number of people involved in the conflict, and that's just the beginning of the work.

It's much quicker to get angry, to get annoyed, to find retaliatory actions. But punishments have limited effectiveness, they hide problems but rarely solve them.

There are already rules around name changes. We could make them more drastic, but that still wouldn't be enough to solve the underlying problem. Because even if the person who hurt you can't change his name anymore, will it prevent thefts, insults, etc. afterwards? No, that kind of thing would happen too... And the remarks show that the anonymity linked to a name change is unrealistic: all the people involved know "who is who" after less than ten days. Even with a character change from A to Z.

Would the community be interested in conflict resolution actions? Would you be willing, when you are in conflict with someone, to go to a neutral third party and ask them to help you communicate with the other person? And not just ask them to punish the other person?]]>

I added Dyn1 and Dyn2 as default for uni+locale and faction as i am not sure what dyn3+ would be besides custom channels, the code does already include upto Dyn8 in case they are added manually.]]>

This gift is so incredible that I better understand the importance of respecting the Powers That Be.
And I can only encourage you in your efforts to understand the Karavan better.
But never forget that you owe it to hominity as a whole and that the fight against the Kitin threat must always prevail!

Stevano-Karan has opened the session with the traditional prayer to Jena.


The Houses present have then reported their current affairs.
Filira Tapco, Herën of the Alkian Order, reported that the Order had unfortunately lost control of the last outpost still operated on behalf of the Karavan, the Psykopla Knoll, due to a lack of dedicated warriors. He also announced the return of Filirae Aylia to the Order, this was discussed in more detail behind closed doors.
Ser Homere paid the respects of the people of Davae, and wished the Royal Family good health, along with an amber cube as a gift for the Karan.
Filira Salazar had no new information regarding the Order of the Argo Navis.
Ser Copal also had no news of the other members of the Gardiens du Savoir.
Finally Ser Valdini introduced his House, Ore Altae, which trains servants of excellence to meet the demands of the greatest Houses.
Serae Belauren, with no House affiliation, also introduced herself.


The floor was then given to the ambassadors.
Ser Zorroargh announced that Ranger teams were working their way back to the Old Lands and that they would be happy to share what they found.

Ser Nilstilar reported on the Federation's installation of a flowery alarm system, i.e. installed in flower pots, although this feature did not seem to affect the effectiveness of the devices. He also attended a market in Fairhaven, which made him wonder about the future of the Avalae Market. Stevano-Karan therefore invited him to propose this subject to the Karae once the Karin's wedding is over.
Last Ser Copal was finally able to present himself to an Assembly of the Circles. The Assembly chose the Seraei Bigsbee and Ylanghao as ambassadors. The Sage Sap made wishes for the wedding of the Karin. The rest of the assembly consisted mainly of rather heated exchanges between the Theocracy's hunter and a lake guild about the involvement of one of its members in the goo-animals invasion near Jen-Lai. And in less heated but hardly more productive exchanges about how to deal with the goo tribes.
Possibly following the meeting, Sage Sap attempted an interview with the Antekami tribe. But this was not successful, as the Theocracy interpreted it as possible betray by the Sage Sap.


Since no other ambassador was attending, the rest of the Chamber was held behind closed doors.
